One thing I noticed was Wilson was very vocal last night and organising which is what we’ve been crying out for, he’s a good shot stopper and his distribution seems to have gotten a lot better, I think stick with him.
Dovin whilst being a good shot stopper and decent distributor needs to learn to be more vocal but that will come as he’s really young still and to be at this level at 21 for a keeper is really impressive.
I think Dovin was chucked in to quickly and needed bedding in properly to build up a connection with the squad. Dovin will be class though and is our future whilst Wilson is the present.
Dovin could learn a lot from Wilson in terms of his shithousery and game management.

We are lucky MVE is as fast as he is as he several times put the after burners on to recover or get to the ball - he was my motm

Like he so often is. Having said this I thought he’s looked right out of sorts a couple of times this year.
Interesting to hear Oggy saying that we appear vulnerable down our right hand side last night.

(Arrogance of Blackburn fans before the game)

Afterwards: And with that, a mighty cheer went up from the heroes of Blackburn Rovers. They had banished the awful unbeaten run - because it was haunted - now let's all celebrate with a cool slice of humble pie

He didn’t distribute the ball - he hoofed it up the pitch

Which saved us creating endless chances for them by pissing about at the back trying to “beat the press”.
If you play out from the back with one or two touch passing, it’s a lot easier to beat the press. Unless you’re Man City though, you won’t have the quality and will risk getting caught out time and again.

There’s an interesting parallel with a trap chess players fall into by copying the opening moves of elite players. The truth is those players can make those moves work by their superior ability in a way a club level schmuck can’t. In the same way, a Championship club trying to copy how Man City play will look, well, like we do.

The performance was immeasurably better than 90% of what we’ve seen so far this season. That’s what we’re capable of, and we’re still not running in 5th gear.

I think BTA will be a pivotal player for us this season, if he stays fit and keeps up the performance level. His energy and drive are infectious to those around him.

Brilliant win, just what Dr Claire ordered. 🤣

Mmmmm, Leeds match-may be open to debate…..

Doesnt discount the good saves he made during the game, yes he makes some mistakes but you cant dispute he’s pulled off some class saves for us
I wish we'd just let him go tbh. @Evo1883 is good with those graph things and I'm sure his one from last season shows, basically, he was rubbish. Collins was actually significantly better despite his end of season collapse.
He is good at the other side of the game I'll give him that one thing. Slowing down, winding up opposition. But that doesn't make up for his deficiencies.

If Robins thought Collins was better he’d be the one starting now,
As we’ve seen last season means fuck all when it comes to this season, look at Simms he looks half the player that finished last season, Thomas as well he looks nowhere near the dominant center half he was last year, then last season Wilson didnt look the same as when he kept 22 clean sheets in a season, and that season Moore looked a mere shadow of his previous season.
so as you can see previous seasons can mean fuck all when it comes to performance this season, in Robins we trust to make the right decisions and he’s decided Wilson

Go where? Did anyone come in for him?
It seems that no one wants him or Collins.
And personally I don't agree Collins is better, I think he's awful personally.
Hopefully Dovin comes good otherwise we'll end up spinning even more money on keepers.

As in let him go as a fan base, he seems to have Biamou-like cult status. We have so many good players yet our fans always take to the shite for some reason.

Robins has decided a lot of weird shit recently. He seems to be settling down fortunately but frankly I think he is hopeless at managing keepers and no one will convince me otherwise.

Right, gotcha.
Though he is probably the only keeper in the history of the game to score a crucial injury time equaliser with his cock

That's bound to endear him to the fanbase.

Fair. Still not sure what anyone who thinks he is a decent keeper is watching though. The stats and indeed his career don't really back it up.
If Robins genuinely thinks he's better than Dovin then we've really fucked up again.

I agree he's not a good keeper.
And though I think he doesn't getcenough credit for his golden gloves he's gone backwards since then.
Which seems to be a theme with our keepers though Marosi and Moore seem to have had really bad luck with injury and personal issues respectively.

The keeper scenario stinks , as Robins in my eyes , has wasted another chunk of money & we are back to the Simon Moore position of paying god knows how much , for someone to just warm up each game ?
The start of the season again has been so poor & Tuesdays win just showed how this is going to be a long season, with our Jekyll & Hyde team .
P S are there any worst passers of a ball as Thomas & lumper Kitching ?
