I don’t mind saying it: we’re too good to get relegated, the same team came 9th last season. We've got two key players to come back that will make us 2-3 levels better than where we’re at atm.11 points off the top 6, 6 above the bottom 3 yet talk of still trying to make the playoffs is reasonable whereas clearly relegation is off the table.
Astonishing arrogance on here sometimes
The game was played at a far slower pace then and there was no high pressLeeds used to play 60 games a season back in the day.
On shit pitches & what a team they were all 12 of them !!
MVE clearly wants to play the minutes he does ; another reason why he is sought after by other clubs.
Are you remotely suggesting that the great players of the 60s & 70s wouldn't of been great players of the current no physical contact era ??The game was played at a far slower pace then and there was no high press
they'd be knackered after about 45 minutes thoughAre you remotely suggesting that the great players of the 60s & 70s wouldn't of been great players of the current no physical contact era ??
Ifs the championship think it’s more shocking to just have a competent ref. Standard is awful this yesrI predict a shit ref
It would be hilarious to see a modern day ref attempt to take one of those games. Are you remotely suggesting that the great players of the 60s & 70s wouldn't of been great players of the current no physical contact era ??
I think @Saddlebrains said Wright would be back but EMC is still 3-4 weeks away.On the fitness front. If EMC is due to be training this week, will he be available? I assume Tats has recovered from Cardiff.
It’s really not that hard to shit a 20More chance of shitting £20 notes than play offs. Face it, best we can aim for tihs year is top half
I don’t think anyone’s ever scored a header from a cornerDaSilva had trick. One of them will be a header from a corner.
It would be a lot more fun the other way roundIt would be hilarious to see a modern day ref attempt to take one of those games.
Simms v LutonI don’t think anyone’s ever scored a header from a corner
Simms vs WatfordSimms v Luton
Played on shit pitches , plus the physio would have a cold bucket of water and sponge .The game was played at a far slower pace then and there was no high press

Todays refs wouldn’t let some of those games even go ahead, the Baseball Ground and Filbert St were particularly awful at this time of year, both more sandy beach and thick mud than grassy pitch!Played on shit pitches , plus the physio would have a cold bucket of water and sponge .
HR in 1988 was probably the worst of the lot.Todays refs wouldn’t let some of those games even go ahead, the Baseball Ground and Filbert St were particularly awful at this time of year, both more sandy beach and thick mud than grassy pitch!
2nd team for me.
2nd team for me but would move Allen into the torp role. Feel he did a lot of the gritty work I’d want in DM. Might even be cheeky to start Rudoni in CAM and put BTA on the left wingYeah and me. Just wondering if Lampard liked how we did with the first formation on Saturday. He mentioned it has given him some flexability in our formations now.

Yeah I get that but I think then the only other option is Dasilva on the left wing, feel Rudoni does his best work as a ten and was massively benefited by Allens quick collections and passes against WednesdayI'd like to get Rudoni in CAM too, but I wouldn't entertain BTA in the LW slot again. Offers next to nothing there.
Yea it was Portugal who kicked the living shit out of Pele.Brazil didn't play Argentina in the 1966 world cup they played Portugal Hungary and Bulgaria
I sometimes look at the billiard table pitches they play on today, and think what the great dribbling players would have made of it.Are you remotely suggesting that the great players of the 60s & 70s wouldn't have been great players of the current no physical contact era ??
Glad to hear it. I know its not his preferred formation but when adversity throws up something that works don't turn your nose up at it.He mentioned it has given him some flexability in our formations now.

I think there's a good chance we'll see wing backs again on Saturday
Joint top 1st game of the season. Our fortunes rest a lot on Wright returning to form promptly. Have we even been in the top half this season?
This but would rather Bidwell over DasilvaJust looked and see Bristol play a 3-4-3 formation.
As such, might be worth sticking to the 5-3-2. Will mean we can mark their five attacking players while allowing the three man midfield to out number their two.
In attack as well we would have overall numbers in the middle of the park with the two CBs pushing higher up the pitch. Issue could be quick breaks on the flanks but a high line may mean we can trap a few for offside
Two strikers against three should help so on this basis as think Simms would struggle against the three on his own
Dovin
MVE - Thomas - Binks - Kitching - Dasilva
Torp - Allen - Rudoni
Simms - Bassette
