Eccles needed to come off on 60, Torp probably isn’t up to 80+ mins and Allen is no DM.
Both would have been better than Lati. Could have taken Torp off before the end, and although Allen isn't a DM he has done a job there this season, he would have at least helped us play through the thirds. We ended up going backwards then long.

Not anything the club can do, it's part of the 3pm blackout

Stupidly it still counts if the game is moved

Who sets the rules, and can’t they be challenged? What would be the penalty for breaking the rule.

it’s an entirely illogical rule that should be challenged. It’s not 3pm for fucks sake.

I agree Lats pulls us too deep and makes it harder to break the press, but I think the problem is Eccles isn’t good enough defensively to play with Torp or Allen and has played more minutes than almost everyone.

Thought this was an odd, okay game play for us today. First 20ish minutes looked disorganized at best. Sakamoto goal looked against th3 overall theme of play to that point. Probably my favorite Saka goal to this point, just hilariously slow mo through everybody. The BC equalizer seemed inevitable despite being so close to half time with a lead.
Second half more entertaining, both sides pushing hard for a win which felt very end to end at times and dramatic. Draw was a fair enough result on the balance I suppose, just disappointing knowing we've seen better quality from our improving sky blues

We all seen that coming, anyone who didn’t bet it needs never to bet again. Onwards and upwards boys we didn’t loose. Got in the play offs by the skin of our teeth last year, this year we’ll walk in to it.

Palmer Wright Sakamoto front three next game please.

Palmer is crying out for a striker to play a through ball to.

Pleased for Simms tonight but we can’t go into Saturday carrying a striker.

Torp was more composed and looked to play more progressive forward passes tonight that Eccles - to be fair I do think Eccles had a particularly off day today, but I also think it highlights the gulf in class between him and Sheaf, in that he obviously struggles without Sheaf in there alongside him.

Torp still looked a bit off the pace, but you could see he was growing into the game as the minutes ticked on… give him a few more games and I’m sure he’ll be a very good player for us.

Be interesting now if we don’t bring in a replacement for Sheaf because Eccles is going to have a lot of pressure to step up his game, which may be exactly what he needs….
I think overall your assessment while longer matches what I said. Eccles and Torp had a similar contribution to the game. I still think we need another CM probably more defensive minded.

Hard to see wtf happened for their second goal from block 15. Just seemed to end up at the feet of their player with no one in front of him without any of their players having to do anything to get it to him. Anyone able to explain it? I are confused.

Simms can do whatever he likes. But doing that in the stadium to home fans just puts himself under more pressure.
Not sure that’s very wise.
It looked like he was doing a Rod Hull and Emu routine . I didn't really think it was aimed at our fans particularly. If he was I'd have thought he'd have done the finger on the lips routine.

Took the goal well. A tap in but he was in the right place. He and Wright added a bit up front to worry them but let's face it, it was a poor game all round for both team. 2-2 is disappointing but under the circumstances it's not a disaster.

In May ‘77, both teams were delighted with a 2-2 draw!!

Looked like a miscommunication between a few of our players

Wells had a shot which bounced between Kitch and Thomas, then a slight touch away but fell to him and they were all facing the other way, and he was left with a clear veiw of the goal

Didn’t look like we were carrying him tonight , what a strange post

Was aimed more at Godden - don’t want to see him start Saturday. Would rather Simms as took his goal well tonight but at some point I think Wright deserves a go up there. Think he will be more dangerous than either.

But we brought on Lati tonight who is basically a centre half , how more defensive do we need ?

Would stick with what works currently and Wright before his injury was a real threat from the left

Thought torp should have been on instead of lati he covers more ground lati seems to lack pace in that role

He was, think he’s been brilliant on the left.

But can you really say Godden or Simms has been working? Watched Palmer tonight running through and he was desperate for a runner. Our players have nowhere to go with Godden. He might make the run but he doesn’t get there. Wright would.

Think he lacks the spatial awareness needed to play in midfield to be honest

Simms adds more than Godden just by being on the pitch . He occupies defenders and stretches the game. He needs more goals but currently offers way more than Godden

Robins summed it up, we couldn’t beat the first press at all, and that’s because Lats can’t pass forwards so it was like the bad old days of Rose to Fadz to Hyam to McCallum back to Hyam ad infinitum. Sheaf can take that ball and turn, or make angles, or pick a pass through the press. Lats and Eccles can’t do that really. Certainly not Lats.

Makes sense. Looked like a fluke from our end.
Right in front of us, Block 28. I couldn't believe the space opened up for him but he took it well. Just so glad we got back into it, fuckers always seem to drag us down to their level, remember they always got the better of us when Gary Johnson was their boss

Today we were out fought. End of. We couldn’t get out in the first half. The team will be in the play offs then it’s a lottery.
