What I hope to see ;

Dovin
Van Ewijk Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Sheaf/Eccles Rudoni
Sakamoto Mason Clark
Torp
Bassette

What I fear will be the more likely;

Collins
MVE Lati Thomas Binks JDS
Sheaf Eccles
Sakamoto Torp
Thomas-Asante
Bidwell is not fit enough to start yet.
Kitching is a fucking nightmare.
Agree with the rest

I don't think there will be major changes for Saturday.
My guess, based on fitness and squad rotation would be something like.

Collins
MVE Lati Thomas Binks EMC
Sheaf Eccles
Rudoni Torp
Simms

Personally I'd go

Dovin
MvE Thomas Kitching Bidwell*
Eccles Rudoni Sheaf
Saka Simms EMC

If Bidwell isn't fit enough I'd be tempted to throw a curveball and try Binks there instead of Dasilva.

Hope we don't lose and we sell more tickets than we have currently. Loads left, I'm hoping Lampy Babes puts a few more on the gate

I reckon bassette could play on the left like wright, gives a front 3 of Bassette simms sakamoto when wrights fit bassette goes back into the middle, EMC more of an impact sub think we’ll see Raphael involved soon

Collins
MVE Thomas Binks JDS
Saka Eccles Sheaf EMC
Bassette Simms

Would be my choice EMC deserves a start in his best position and given Cardiff will no doubt sit deep Bassette up top alone doesn't make much sense as there will be less space in behind.

I'm not saying that Doug'll pick the team or anything but if I'm him, my biggest peeve with previous regime would be to see so many big investments on the bench week in week out. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dovin, Kitching, EMC, Simms given a chance to prove themselves. EMC in particular deserves a run of games with Wright out.

When did we last beat them. They are one of our bogey teams. Happy with a draw
  • Coventry City have won just three of their last 17 league matches against Cardiff City (D4 L10) and lost both meetings last season.

I agree with much of this.

I do think we need to get back to playing people in their best positions and trying to have greater consistency of formation and team selection.

Players thrive on confidence and on developing a collective understanding.

At the moment I can only see 2 partnerships on the pitch …. MVE / Tats and Sheaf / Eccles ….. we need many more than that !

Collins
MVE Thomas Binks JDS
Sheaf (6)
Torp (8) Rudoni (8)
Sakamoto Bassette EMC

The above is harsh on Eccles, but if we play two 8’s, I’d like to see Torp and Rudoni starting as they are more creative.

JDS > Bidwell based on fitness.

Bassette > Simms - I’m a big Simms fan but there’s going to be a buzz, excitement and expectation tomorrow. An enthusiastic Bassette performance suits that.

Collins > Dovin - I don’t think FL will see a need to change it, despite Collins having weak hands. Both are probably pretty devoid of confidence.

Attacking performance and 2-0 win would be ideal.

I expect we’ll mostly see whatever was already being worked on. That said we need to decide what our best defence is and persist with it.

One thing I ask for is Collins not in goal. I don’t despise him but he just simply isn’t good enough. His motivation must be low and be hauled back in the starting 11 out of no where. Those goals against Burnley especially the first one is so weak and we’ve seen it before.

Persist with Dovin as he has not done anything majorly wrong. And he is the future and invested in.

Eccles has been our best player this season. Surely he has to be in.

If we play a back 4 and Bidwell isn’t fit yet then play Binks left back. Our best run last season did come with Thomas and Kitching together at CB so try and get that partnership going again

One thing I ask for IS Collins in goal. Lets have some stability in that position at least. Eccles surely has to start, I’d like to see Bassette again too. Saka has started to look dangerous again too, particularly at the CBS.

Would love to see this line up , MVE and Saka are a great unit when paired together . Just need Simms to be more aggression

MvE
Thomas

JDS

Eccles
Sheaf
Rudoni

Sakamoto

EMC

Feel like that's the strongest fit XI on paper and form over their time here, although Bidwell gets in if he's fit for me. Binks looks good but we're leaking goals with him starting. Something isn't working.

Think dovin will be back in

Reckon it will be a back 4 so kitching and Bidwell wouldn’t surprise me
Emc will start and saka and probably rudoni behind probably bassette
Otherwise normal lot
Mve Thomas eccles sheaf
