I hope if Simms comes on, he does that at the very least.

It’s pretty clear Franks seen something he likes in Bassette in training / games and thinks he can offer more, which is interesting.
It’s also his 4th game in charge, FL is still figuring it out his best team and places are still up for grabs. If Simms comes off the bench and scores he’ll be back in in the starting lineup.

I believe in a season or two, Bassette will be our best player. Right now, he’s just a bit too raw in my view and the team needs goals and leaving 2 strikers on the bench with 13 and 19 goals last season isn’t what I’d do. Then again, there’s a reason I don’t get paid for my opinion on football.

Lampard should give everyone a chance between now and new year. The changes at the back suggest he’s looking for players more comfortable on the ball.
As for Bassette - he at least presses and one of the things we haven’t done well this season is press.

Simms couldn't press a shit out of his arse could he.

Torp and Binks in suggests he wants us to play through the lines quicker.

Question marks over Torps fitness and Binks’ defensive ability, but both can play on the front foot and pick a pass. Certainly more so than those they’ve replaced.

Interesting he’s sticking with Bassette. Again indicates he wants to play quick ball.

I’d much prefer a striker who scores goals and doesn’t press well.

We don’t have a player on the pitch who’s scored more than 2 goals in the team today and we’re 20 games in. Yet, we’ve got BTA and Simms on the bench.

Seems like he’s decided that Collins is the number one. I guess we’ve gotten used to Robins chopping and changing the keeper constantly but most manager won’t do that.
He must be fucking incredible in training because I can’t imagine anyone who has watched the games or looked at the stats thinking he’s the only option

Neither BTA or Simms have shown anything that suggests they deserve to start.

To be fair watching the warmup neither of them can hit a barn door
