But if we went up, then back down, we'd have the war chest that others have, like those clubs you mentioned. Would make us much stronger for several seasons.

Our fans melt down at the occasional loss or bad run. Imagine losing every week - they couldn't cope. By the time we got relegated we would be back to the 10-11,000 die hards.

I really cannot understand where this comes from.

As a fanbase, we're no different to 90% of all other clubs. Like all other clubs, we would sell out every single game in the PL

Yes we would because of the product. But to real fans? Would they stay we us? In the seventies despite being in the top flight our fan base was brittle if not fickle.

Made a last minute decision to get some tickets for this tonight, but going in the West Stand for the first time ever (I think). What's the concourse like there? Same as? Is that The Mill open to anyone?

Not really. It remained fairly constant through the decade:

We're currently a mid table 2nd division side getting our highest average gates for 50 years and are about to sell out for a pretty meh cup tie. Anyone would think thousands would all come flocking to games in the PL. Our average gate would go up by about 3k and 1K of that would be increased away followings. All these non fans you mention, where are they going to sit?

Tricky one tomorrow as some players do need a rest, but I think tomorrow is absolutely winnable.

MVE and Rudoni are probably the main two, so Burroughs and Eccles likely the obvious too, albeit that’s a big loss in creativity in midfield.

I can see the 4-3-3 argument as it gets Sakamoto and Raphael in so still gives us a good attacking outlet.

If we stick 3-5-2:

Dovin

Lati/Thomas Binks Kitching
Burroughs Allen Eccles JDS
Torp
Bassette Simms

Could swap Torp out for Sakamoto but last time he played 10 he looked lost. Midfield looks weak either way.

I want a win, the cup run last year was incredible and the more excitement the better!

Looks like a massive crowd, give us some entertainment please Frank… we won’t make play offs, so a bit of cup excitement will be great 👍🏼
Personally I hope he makes as many changes as possible and gives players a rest ahead of the QPR game. We have a chance (albeit a slim one) of getting into the playoffs, the next 6 games are very winnable and that has to be our priority now.

Youll need to get beer in either the bit where you first come in, or all the way past the corporate bit to the other end. The Mill is only open to Posh Plums (us😀), although we have been moved out of thd Mill to Legends for this one as they hadn’t sold off seats so maybe the Mill will be open to be everybody tomorrow

Football is so, so different now. Even compared to the 90s, attendances are not remotely comparable.

Fuck the top six off to a super league and reorganise the money left among those left.

There wouldn’t be any TV money without Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham in the league.

Respectfully, a Coventry vs. [Insert random club that is not Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham] Monday night Premier Leaugue fixture deserves my hard earned TV money. Anyone got a link to a stream, preferably dodgy as fuck?

I hope that MVE gets rested. He hasn’t been his usual self for some time and I’m sure it’s because he has played just about every game.

Grimes will surely start. It’s a good chance to settle him in the team ahead of a run of winnable games that we need to perform very well in if we are stand any chance of the play-offs.

I think we will play a strong team but with some rotation. A chance to get Eccles in.

I hope to see a good performance after Leeds. For me that’s more important than winning, although a win would help to boost our confidence.

As long as we go out show a good account of ourselves and try a new tactic of passing to each other to make it harder for the opposition instead of making it hard for ourselves I will be happy, if we happen to win its more money for Frank (hopefully) to bring in someone in the summer thats actually good at passing, he's already started with Grimes, can't be there today going to collect a new car that the wankers didn't have ready in time for last Sunday GRRRRRRRR enjoy lads, don't forget on 22 minutes for poor Callum
