This Oxford side beat Norwich last Weekend. Can’t be completely terrible

We beat them convincingly. They never had a sniff. You might be better than you think you are and we might not be guaranteed bottom three.

You are a mullet of a team. Very tidy up front but messy at the back.

ps can someone volunteer to collect Boosh from our forum . What a cockwomble.

Well it was almost 2-2. If they just sat back we shouldn’t have conceded and hammered them 4 or 5 nil. But they attacked to the extent they could and fair play to them scored with whatever chances came their way (largely due to our sloppiness at the back as well). Last week’s result versus Norwich was also a very good one. Anyway they don’t look like a team that will struggle to stay up, especially if they are as lucky as they were today. Cheers.

News flash - you can sit back in a game and still score goals and prevent the other team from scoring.

They did sit back, countered well occasionally.

I will be surprised if they stay up, but I hope they do.

Crikey, there’s some rot on here. We’ve absolutely battered Oxford and played sublime football. I know it’s frustrating if we aren’t winning but come on, that was superb. We’ll destroy a lot of teams this year. Wright, MVE, Saka, Binks superb. Also Lati had a solid game. I had my doubts but he was decent.
Totaly agree, if we'd of been 3-0 up at half time, it wouldn't of been any suprise.

A poor refereeing decision resulted in the free kick that gave Oxford the first goal, and some bad luck resulted in the second equaliser. Hopefully when we have a settled back 4 we'll stop conceding those soft goals.

But we played some fantastic football at times, it was a pleasure to watch. All 3 goals were quality and we've made a statement with our attacking football.

A really enjoyable evening, even if we did leave it late!

Well they should’ve scored 1 goal at most not 2. It’s all semantics.

Was Torp bad? Eccles wasn't up to much tonight tbh.

I thought Torp did okay. Eccles, I thought was decent in the first half, but he lost possession in dangerous places on two occasions and then misplaced some passes at times too. Definitely faded in the second half.

Everyone agree that Rudoni faded somewhat, too

He seemed to be pulling all the strings in the first half, but seemed a little jaded in the second.

I think most of us are quite self aware regarding our team, particularly after watching that.

You can keep Boosh.

I thought they weren’t too bad, certainly seen worse up here last season and would imagine worse this season too….

I’ll have a fiver they’ll stay up this season playing on the counter attack a bit like our first season
Agree. Not as bad as Wycombe or Peterborough

Tonight has illustrated our problems. This is a game that should have been 3-0. Oxford first goal was a fuck up , second one was because Totp has no pace and could not cover the run. Defensively we heed a more mobile cam and our defense needs an experienced head.

We really need Sheaf back and need another defensive midfielder in the next couple of weeks

Going forward, much more like it. Need to work on the weighting of passes and balls into the box as that is really what kept the score down.

At the other end, we need to decide on our best back 4 and stick with it to let them get the cohesion badly needed. Though another RCB also needs pursuing as part of that.

In midfield, Torp really was the weak link and I hate to say that about a player I like a lot. Poor on the ball, and weak sauce off it.

No matter how we play you come on here and it’s suicide watch. We’ve absolutely battered Oxford here and half the posts are about how we’ve “got away with one”

Genuinely hope everyone’s OK.
Nice to know we played well will look out for the highlights.

TBF most of the posts were very depressing.
Was going to jump off the pier but couldn't be arsed to walk that far.

Time and time again though they’ll be punished more often than not at this level playing that way, with a defence as poor as that.

I’ll be on Brighton pier during the Bristol game. If we concede I’ll throw some doughnuts off the side on your behalf.

Torp’s man was the guy off the pitch - unless he’s Superman he’s not getting anywhere near the scorer, and the first goal was a result of a free kick that wasn’t, and an unfortunate bounce off a centre forward’s (Simms) shin

why would a mobile CAM help defensively? don’t we need a more defensive / box to box midfielder? and how would an experienced head have helped when you’ve just bemoaned lack of pace and yet Fadz had the turning circle of an HGV last season?

I agree a couple of experienced heads is no bad thing, but other than that you’re talking nonsense my friend
