Hopefully just on holiday. He"s streets ahead of Gurney.

Same as last year, it's a bit odd a football commentator would go on holiday at the start of the season. 🥴

Probably trying to cover Binks who had let his man get behind him and also goal side of him.
Think Kitching should start next game. He was excellent in the Cup Game last week. I like Binks but Kitching is stronger , nastier, and probably more streetwise. Would assume Lati has won back the shirt from Thomas, and in fairness did well against Oxford, but Kitching & Thomas are the first choice CBs in my view.

Either way Robins is going to have to choose a pairing and stick with. Constantly chopping and changing CBs rarely ever bodes well as you don't get that continuity and understanding needed to form a solid partnership.

The keeper looks calm and decent. Made a great save at the end. However, he must be wondering what he's got in front of him. Both goals were avoidable. Simms fucking about in his own area didn't help. We need some experience asap. McFadz may of gone a tad early and Lawrence going when he did hasn't helped.

Both goals to concede were stupid but I think you need to persist with the winning team

Be glad when he is back. Gurney tries to hard to be ingratiating . I don’t get the sense he has seen us at all in the 20 years since he ditched us when we were relegated from the Prem.

Clive carries that burden like the rest of us and can share in the success with us.

Okay he's not your preferred Commentator but Rob Gurney is Sky Blue through and through, he's a Cov Kid and has Supported the Sky Blues since he was a Kid. 💙

Can anyone explain why Bidwell leaves their man completely unmarked for their 2nd goal?
Simple. The goalscorer ran off the back of Binks as Binks was ball watching.
Bidwell gambled (imo) and tried to close him, but the ball went over his head. You could ask why no one was tracking back to help the defence, as we were a player short.

I like Binks, but he should of done better with the challenge for the first goal too.

We weren’t a player short though, it was 4 defenders vs 4 attackers. Binks has his man covered. Bidwell comes across for no reason, leaving the man at the back with a free header.

He didn’t have his man covered if ‘his man’ scored… The ball went past him too.

He has him covered from the initial cross. You can't then expect him to anticipate the header back across from a man he can't see, spin 180 degrees and block it.

It's nothing defending from Bidwell. Even if the initial cross goes to their 9 he's behind him so he can't do anything. He's lucky the Oxford player committed to a diving header comically early, it would have been a fairly simple volleyed finish otherwise.

For sure, Torp, Bidwell and Binks all could’ve done their jobs better. Binks goes for the ball and misses it whilst running past their goal scorer, who also does a shimmy .

I’ve rewatched the goal again during the stoppage in the Spurs match. Binks doesn’t have Harris and it’s Bidwell who’s jumping up for that header if Harris was the target. It’s fair to say that Binks & Bidwell were all over the place and Torp was caught ball watching after the cross.

I’ll reiterate that it was just poor defending from 3 players. I don’t think Lati could’ve done much more.
