That's where it starts to get tricky for us.

With Collins in goal you will have 12 players, as he will effectively be playing as an extra striker for you. We will be down to 10, as we will be without a goalkeeper.

My earlier optimism of us winning 2-1 has now gone. I think it will be 7-0 to Pompey.

☹️
you forgot the ref - he was an addition for the Burnley game

😂 Hopefully you're right but it's almost impossible for us to get an away result.

As long as you put 11 players on the pitch, you'll win.

We just aren't clinical enough up top and make too many mistakes defensively away from home.

You'll be far too good for us at your place.

I think you'll win 3 1.

Enjoy the game.
Don't fret, Collins will chuck one or two in the net for you

He was never going to play Bell. lets be realistic. It would be utter madness.

Why would it, Chris Kirkland only 18 sitting in the stands at Highfield Road before a game, wasn't in the team, hadn't played for the first team, this was back in the days when they didn't have a goalkeeper on the subs bench, our goalkeeper got injured on the warm-up before the game, I just can't remember who the goalkeeper was at the time, they called Chris from the stands to get changed because he was playing which was agreed by the other team, again I can't remember who we're playing, funny how some things stick in your mind and others don't, anyway Chris went on to play a blinder and kept a clean sheet, the rest is history.

Sorry to be a pedant. It wasn’t Kirkland but Steve Murcott who came on. Can’t remember who was the injured keeper but the game was against Norwich and he kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win. I don’t think he ever played again but may be wrong.

Need 3 goals tonight to secure it... or at least keep my heart rate down. If Collins is starting I really do hope he has a good game (for his sake as well as ours).

Said it in another thread, but Wilson signing a new contract when he’s clearly the third choice behind Dovin and Collins tells you everything you need to know - even Wilson doesn’t back himself to be a first team option at this level.
Didn't he talk about this stuff when he was interviewed on signing the new contract?

I remember being at Vicarage Rd when an 18 year old Michael Quirke came off the bench for his first professional appearance. Did alright if memory serves.

Only played a couple of professional games before dropping to no league though.

Not unless I missed some other interview
“I’m over the moon. I’ve been here a number of years now and I was getting to the stage where I wasn’t sure what was going to be happening next season, so to extend my contract I’m absolutely thrilled.

“I can’t wait to get going and for everything I’ve done over the last few years with Coventry I want to make more memories with them and push to the very top.”

Yes this is correct. Jim Blyth was the injured keeper.

Kirkland was the other way round when Strachan refused to bring him on despite Hedman being barely able to stand up and pleading to be substituted. It was against Middlesborough who played crap but nevertheless scored a winner by Dean Gordon with the one shot they managed to muster against the ailing Hedman.

If his first appearance, was alright his second one must have been an absolute disaster if his next stop was non league!

3-5-2 tonight please Frank, Wilson in goal,
Wright and Simms up front.

As its a must win game, can we go for it from the start and not wait till we go 1-0 behind please.

We're winning this. We were poor against Blunts and Burnley was just a frustrating mess of a game against a bunch of bellends and a ball sack ref.. I don't think this means we're dropping off a cliff though. Collins might have something to say about it but otherwise I think we'll see this one through.

Zero chance? We'll only be a point behind them with a win. They've got a few difficult games in there too. Plenty more twists and turns to come yet, teams fighting in different situations. Look at Sheff Utd, lost back to back games against Oxford and Millwall

But for Marosi getting his face smashed in Wilson would probably never have appeared for the club and would be bench warming for Shrewsbury around now
And he would never have scored that goal against Blackburn and we wouldn’t of made the playoffs.
and he wouldn’t have won the Golden Gloves.

Two Portsmouth fans on the train, both in their 50’s, both absolutely smashed on cans of Carling and fawning over girls who look barely legal.

What a life.

At least I haven’t seen that smelly one with the bell!

That wasn't planned and we had no other options.

That fucking bell bloke. I know someone that went to one of their games, it may have been the FA cup final and had the misfortune of being next to him.

Portsmouth is a shithole.

I hope the Wi-Fi is working at the area. It’s pretty shoddy that it’s been out of action. We niw go elsewhere for a drink beforehand and afterwards because of that.

Things wouldn’t have unfolded in exactly the same way. We probably still end up signing Simon Moore in the summer, beyond that who knows

BBC reporting that Wilson still isn’t 100% in his knee being being right.
Also, whilst I think everybody thinks that maybe a change is needed - there’s two other things to consider:
1. It will probably be even more detrimental to Collins confidence if he is dropped (especially given the chances of him leaving in summer will be slimmer now I’d have thought with Dovin injured)
2. If Wilson has a mistake ridden game then what next?

I really don’t think there’s much in it between them as keepers but I would go Wilson over him purely because of the fact that irrespective of the players in front of him, he was still the Golden Glove keeper two seasons ago.

Portsmouth is a shithole.

As someone who's live in a few places in the UK and travelled it extensively with work, I can assure you it's really not.

Granted, like everywhere, it's got it's problem areas but it's a really nice city. Coastline all around it, nice beaches, good shopping at Gunwharf and nice marina at Port Solent. There's a lot to do for families and it's generally a clean enough city.

The people are genuine and down to earth as well. Salt of the earth types.
