“They call it a cob, they call it a cob, if only they called it a batch “.Not only was it a great result today but just seen the scum up the road have become the first team to lose 6 home games on the spin without scoringRuud at the wheel
100% agree. You don’t win 7/8 games without deserving it and especially during 3rd half of the season without being serious contenders. Just looking at form now and only wish it was first the 3rd!!!Very good performance, best for a long time, perhaps even the season.
10 needless nervous minutes at the end, but I had faith we’d see it through.
Team has developed that resilience and ability to find a way; it’s reminiscent of the play off season.
Exciting times ahead!
O'Hare a 2.0 ltr turbo. Rudoni a 3 ltr supercharged quality.2 totally different players who offer different things.
Rudoni is more creative, but O’Hare is an engine room. Both very much top end championship players
yeh you’re probably rightThe linesman cost us the first goal in reality but really he will improve , probably harsh to destroy him on 20 minutes
...the sad twat
Looked offside twice to me. Not seen a replay yet but once when their player got it on the wing and then when it got played to the player that scored.
From that it looks like he's possibly level with the ball.
That's a very long season...3rd half ?100% agree. You don’t win 7/8 games without deserving it and especially during 3rd half of the season without being serious contenders. Just looking at form now and only wish it was first the 3rd!!!
When Rudoni hits those high looping corners, time seems to stand still. They are not the usual 'whipped in' corners but are absolutely murderous for a defence. Can he give Eccles some lessons in dead ball kicking?I still think O Hare is great, just a different kind of player.
Rudoni is obviously physically much stronger, taller and more composed. Three things that can’t really be taught imo. O Hare will always be a busy player and never a composed player.
The output of Rudoni this season is so impressive. Even when he’s not playing a great game, he’s difficult to substitute because of his dead ball delivery.
I have no real complaints about that, tbh.
Comment of the day. He really does though!Grimes runs like hes roller blading.
Still think it's marginal and he could be level.
Miles offside, but the lino is so far behind play that from his angle it would look like he is behind the ball
Where's the pen spot, get a more accurate picture if that was visible. From that it looks like he's possibly level with the ball.
Tell you what that's a guess from the linesman who is behind play?
He deserved it ....& he deserves a better song too & so does Lampard !!i wasn't surprised we played well today, and we can improve even more.
i wasn't surprised we beat preston today, i just had an inkling we would.
...but hearing the doug king song again? wow, wasn't expecting that!!!
Keep upIs Torp injured?
And Swansea, Frank Lampard has done that in less than 3 months, Mark Robins couldn't do that in 7 years.
Lets be frank, Frank this was the first game we looked really good from the start until the last 10 minutes. We have been grinding out results in our run but looked the real deal today. Think Grimes looks to have brought some midfield class to the table, keeping things simple and ticking over. Lots of posters on here were calling for that cool head and experience in midfield earlier in the season.
Preston goal was offside, just, not by miles. Should have had 5 but for good goalkeeping and a lot of luck on their side.
First time I can remember not looking like rabbits in the headlights playing Preston.
Fabulous.Good 7 years though, you agree?
I was in line with it and he was a mile off. That lino missed four clear offsides the useless cntJust seen the replay of their goal and he's completely offside, his entire body.
Eccles never had a stinker. Let it go mate and accept Eccles is a valuable member of the squadFirst half was the best performance of the season - much quicker transition from defence to attack which previously had been very laboured. This was mainly, but not exclusively, down to Grimes. Rudoni continues to look so good and Simms scared them witless for the first hour
Three 'buts'
Eccles had a stinker and should have been replaced a lot earlier. We needed somebody to harry them harder - Allen is just the ticket for that role. My neighbour in block 19 met a Derby fan who described Frank as being great when things were going well but not very adaptable when they were not. Not replacing Eccles could be a possible example of this??
Poor service to EMC.
The central pair in the 4-3-3 were dangerously exposed quite frequently in the second half. Looked like their front man had his eyes on Kitching in particular
I was in line with it and he was a mile off. That lino missed four clear offsides the useless cnt
