Shouldn’t we have done better playing a weakened Ipswich team?It hasn’t been found out. Leeds have scored 62 goals already, averaging 2 goals a game. They are just a class above the rest of the league. As for Ipswich, we played a weakened team so why anyone is shocked that we were outclassed is beyond me.
In both games we were chasing the game too which puts you in a position to concede more chances and goals. QPR don’t have that same quality and I don’t believe we should throw the baby out with the bath water.
I do agree that the end point will be 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 when we’re back to full strength.
I didn't expect a win but what a did expect was a bit of a guts and fight, not the white flag put up from the start of ko.Shouldn’t we have done better playing a weakened Ipswich team?
I think its clear BTA has his downsides but while he is scoring its hard to drop him. Bassette to me doesnt offer more so shouldnt start.Definitely not a given, they are one of the form sides in the league, but hopefully we can get back to winning ways, especially as we are at home. Reckon the side will be;
Dovin
MvE
Lati
Thomas
Kitching
Dasilva
Grimes
Torp
Rudoni
BTA
Simms
Whilst Allen has performed admirably recently, I think we need to give Grimes a go, with a good excuse to rest Allen after two difficult matches. Think we need to accept that Dasilva will be starting if Bidwell is out, and BTA and Simms have been scoring whilst playing up front together but would like to see Bassette and Simms given a try at some point.
The high line has been okay against other teams, we can't be changing our tactics due to defeats against the best team in the league and against a PL team who had players that cost 8 figuresI just think Sakamoto offers more control on the ball than BTA, even though he would be out of his best position. He doesn't give it away. Nor does Rudoni and obviously Grimes. Torp is also a pretty good ball holder. So I would go for the usual, back 5 with JDS substituting for Bidders and Kitching told to mind the left wing. In midfield a box of Grimes and Torp behind Sakamoto and Rudoni. Simms as the lone striker.
The question is whether we persist with the potentially suicidal high line in defence, which was exposed by Leeds too many times to mention and took Ipswich less than a minute to undo. I hope this time we are more cautious

i've already said we shouldn't be changing tactics that work due to games against the best the league and against a PL team.Perhaps we should think about it, it was breached at will by Leeds and Ipswich. I wouldn't mind too much if it had been played through because of particular craft but it was quite often jusr simple balls from deep. It definitely needs a bit of work.
That Ibiza tour was great - haha. We then played them for the first home game at the Ricoh and it kicked off outside during the game. After that tawt Chair giving it the Billy Big B*ll*cks and running to Singers Corner, rather than his own fans , last season, I hope we a) stuff them and b) stick a few on him. Good player, but after what he had been up to off the pitch, really took a dislike to him, and that just exacerbated it.
Edit: Was this the game that the QPR fans played up at and created a bit of a 'thing' with City fans at the time?

Id love to see burroughs start, cant remember the last time we had a cov youth start, or even come off the bench.
Simms is hopelessly ineffective as a lone striker, its been proven numerous times earlier this season.I just think Sakamoto offers more control on the ball than BTA, even though he would be out of his best position. Does depend if people can get around himSimms is hopelessly ineffective as a lone striker, its been proven numerous times earlier this season.
He needs to play in a 2.
3 at the back, Binks LWB
you heard it here first…..
We didn’t have 7 or 8 of our starting 11. Are you therefore surprised that their squad depth was better than ours ?Shouldn’t we have done better playing a weakened Ipswich team?
Why does that matter. Unless Burroughs is better than MVE he shouldn’t start.Id love to see burroughs start, cant remember the last time we had a cov youth start, or even come off the bench.
Argument would be if Burroughs is better than Dasilva in a back four as he can play on the left and ring if I’m not wrong. Why does that matter. Unless Burroughs is better than MVE he shouldn’t start.
Eccles is from the academy so the last time was actually only Saturday.
i mean someone that hasnt played 150 games for cov...????
Last game, Josh Eccles, he was also captain for part of it...
i just meant someone new from the academy. Why does that matter. Unless Burroughs is better than MVE he shouldn’t start.

Think that’ll be Kai Andrews. Seems very highly rated by usi just meant someone new from the academy.

#flying fokker Pretty certain one was Wallace as its the only one I can remember. because of his hair...but my memory may have merged a few games at that time!! My Dads mate took me to try and get me to support Cov...it wasn't until 1984 that the penny dropped...heavily influenced by a Mr terry Gibson hatrick!!Calm down people - it's a 4-1 win. My first game at Highfield road in 1977 (I was a Liverpool fan at the time) we won 4-1. I had a very vivid dream about the game. 2 nights ago...so I'm lumping a tenner on it.
Actually, having given it as bit more thought, I also made sure it was my eldest sons 1st game at Highfield road (he's a Man Utd fan) and we lost 2-1 in 2005 and also my daughters 1st game we won 1-0 in 2010. So I've downgraded from a tenner to 50p.
Basically 3 points in the bag - stop manifesting a loss negative people!!!
Is he any better than DaSilva?3 at the back, Binks LWB

Does make sense to how we started against Cardiff with the leftback forming a back three. Kitching or Binks could do this well if imagineI’d be really keen to see us play a back 4 with Binks at LB. Think his game would be more suited to that, and they can shuffle into a 3 when we’re attacking.
Edit: or invert into defensive midfield when we’re up the field.
Thier weakened team was in the main the team that got promoted last season plus the mew goalkeeperShouldn’t we have done better playing a weakened Ipswich team?
