Armstrong was very wasteful for them I thought.Yeah seemed obvious after about 20 mins. Really well executed. Had sheaf not made that mistake maybe we win. That said they had some good chances after equalised so draw is fair
His head won’t fit through his cousin’s door now
Was it him who grazed the bar?Armstrong was very wasteful for them I thought.
seemed a lot slower than I remember him beingArmstrong was very wasteful for them I thought.
You mustn't watch the game very well as he made a big differenceI wouldn't say he was a huge improvement. I like Eccles but I only remember THAT corner from his performance. No dangerous forward passing or moving of the ball.
Not buying it. He was fine but made less of a difference than Palmer. You mustn't watch the game very well as he made a big difference

Thanks for the reminder! Of all the bizarre exchanges I've seen on here, that took the biscuit. His head won’t fit through his cousin’s door now
Ok then explain it tactical genius! You just don’t understand football do you?
He played okay but his first choice leaves a lot to be desired, it’s so important the way we play.Simms is like our Lynden Dykes, his overall game is quite solid. If he keeps up his hold up play and off the ball work the goals will come. But he’s improving
Agreed Steve, stick with Simms and give him time. People are desperate for him to fail.Really good, entertaining game. Nearly a bit of a smash and grab based on all their possession but thought we looked dangerous all night and played some lovely stuff on the break.
Wright scores…let’s get onto simms…standard SBT. Thought he worked really hard tonight and was a handlful occupying both centre halves. Wright also looked very good tonight.
ps anyone questioning Eccles when be came on might as well start watching netball. He was excellent. Should’ve been on 10-15 mins earlier
His pace stretches defences and allows players like O’Hare , Saka and Palmer to play in the space it createsGood result and performance. Sakamoto Ohare Van Ewijk will cause any team problems. Wright and Simms let's just breathe a little and let them bed in, both hot and cold which surely anybody in their right mind expects from 2 young forwards, no need to jump on them all tbe time. Simms occupied the defenders well was a very tough task for him tonight, he did well.
Let's hope your wrong again thenIve done a total 180 on Wright and Simms.
Simms just so frustrating, his first touch is always awful and he wastes so many good opportunities, should have had two easy chances first half but couldn’t control the ball. Just no faith when it goes to him that anything will happen.
That’s why I wouldn’t criticise Simms that much he was playing to instructions, he’s a big fella with strength but first touch really lets him down.Good result and performance. Suppose to have said touch ???K it’s been a few now. What do you mean by first choice?
None of the subs were on long enough but you could quickly see that they were justified. How anybody can say Eccles was ‘excellent’ or ‘outstanding’ tonight is beyond me!
He was ok, but as has been said on here earlier the only thing I can remember him doing is hitting the first man from an awful corner.
He’s ok, maybe just above average, and coming on with only a handful of minutes to go gives him the edge and will make him look better because he’s fresher - bear in mind he also didn’t have 90 minutes against Blues.
He doesn’t stand out, he’s nothing special and we need better if we’re serious about getting promoted, end of.
Nothing against the lad, he’s ok and can do a job, and he’s a good option from the bench but he isn’t going to be playing for a top six (or any position to be fair) premier league team any time soon!
Eccles did well when he came on. Nothing amazing nothing poor. Just did well
He's a good player.
It’s a shame some on here have formed opinions on him and won’t ever change them , it’s pathetic to be honestEccles did well when he came on. Nothing amazing nothing poor. Just did well

Yes I agree the subs were justified, and I’m not arguing about that - I think Eccles brought energy and fresh legs when he came on, O’Hare and Allen were lagging - all the subs definitely helped.None of the subs were on long enough but you could quickly see that they were justified.
Actually, I didn’t mean to like this post, because he’s not dog shit, but he’s often got a misplaced pass in him, almost looks to casual. Needs to be more clinical.Apologies - just joined this thread now after arriving home so not aware of any (thoroughly deserved) criticism that may well have already been voiced, but does anybody else think that Sheaf is dog shit?
Awful tonight, indifferent against blues and dropping material against Ipswich.
Priority upgrade in January me thinks.
Downside obviously that there's a song that needs to be binned.
Ya. He's so young let's not have drama everytime he plays please. It’s a shame some on here have formed opinions on him and won’t ever change them , it’s pathetic to be honest
Might be stretching it a little here and obviously one for those a little older, but Simms is the Tommy English to Wright's Gary Thompson.Ive done a total 180 on Wright and Simms.

Being very honest the best performing sub was Palmer who appeared much more energetic and moved the ball nicely. Split the defence very well to put Sheaf inYes I agree the subs were justified, and I’m not arguing about that - I think Eccles brought energy and fresh legs when he came on, O’Hare and Allen were lagging - all the subs definitely helped.
I’m just confused at what people saw to say he was amazing, he didn’t really do anything - unless I missed it?
He added a physicality that was lacking and he provides a vital cog on the right , it was no surprise that Van Ewijk and Sakamoto were a lot more dangerous in the last 15 minutesYes I agree the subs were justified, and I’m not arguing about that - I think Eccles brought energy and fresh legs when he came on, O’Hare and Allen were lagging - all the subs definitely helped.

We matched them second half and could easily have won last 10 thoughYh ultimately will take the point on that one … very evidently a better side than us so I think I’d be a bit frustrated as a saints fan that they were so patient so late in the game (was only the last 10 it got a bit more pace).
