We haven’t beaten Swansea in the league for something like 25 years.

The failure to stop teams scoring against us even when we are playing well (Oxford in the league and last night for example) is really beginning to worry me. This game already has a must win feel about it; which ordinarily would be a ridiculous thing to say so early in the season.

Stick Bassette Wright and Simms up top.
Won't know what's hit them.

I'm not beaming with confidence at the moment but I will look on the positive side of things. If we can take our chances when we're on top, we can win but we need to find that killer instinct, clinical.

Looking at the subs bench from last night, we had EMC, Saka, Sheaf, Simms & Torp.... on the bench!

I think after playing 90' BTA and Allen will be replaced, Torp and (I would go for) Bassett on the right. Simms & Wright come back in and maybe Dasilva.

Sheaf and & Saka to come on later to build up their minutes.

Without trying to sound like too much of a negative Nancy, and for how much I enjoyed last night’s performance, it really does mean very little if we don’t turn up on Saturday. Cup was a nice distraction but league is what is important this season. Can’t be losing, or even really drawing, with average midtable sides at home if we have any aspirations of getting out of the league. Let’s see the level of performance from last night again please and show that we’re not just a team that turns up for the glamour ties.

Got a good feeling about this. Hope the players are as positive about the last two performances as I am despite the results. Feel like we’re close to cracking it.

Dovin
MvE Thomas Kitching Dasilva
Eccles Sheaf (Torp if not fit)
Wright Rudoni Bassette
Simms

S: Wilson, Lats, Binks, Bidwell, Torp/Andrews, Allen, Saka, EMC, BTA.

Last two performances have been excellent.

With our injuries starting to clear up, the squad is looking decent, with a very strong bench.

I'd pick the same team as Watford (a) except for Thomas-Asante in for Mason-Clark and Haji Wright for Lati. MVE moves back to RB.

Kitching and Dasilva were reallly good against Watford so they keep their places (if the latter is fit).

Bassette was great last night, but he's a CF for me, and Simms has earnt his start for his goal and performance at Watford.

Wright and Thomas-Asante as the wide forwards. Mason-Clark you can tell is going to be a great player but he's hit and miss at the moment. Thomas-Asante keeps his place for me.

Sheaf not ready to start. Robins pulling off Eccles & Rudoni and resting Torp last night suggests he knows that too.

Bench: Sakamoto, Sheaf, Bassette, Lati, Mason Clark, Allen, Bidwell, Binks, Wilson. Tavares

I don't care who plays out of Kitching and Binks but for the love of fuck please stick with Thomas and keep Lati on the bench.
If he stops pissing about with the defence i think we'll get the 3 points, if not then who knows...

Weirdly expecting a tougher test against Swansea than we got last night (last 5-10 minutes aside).
Just need us to put in a similar (or higher) level performance

Would be happy with this team as well, although think BTA and Bidwell could be pushing for starts

I'm predicting 2 pints, several double JDs and coke, and a nice warm glow for 90 minutes. Come on City1

Why ? It doesn’t play to our squad strengths ….

Because more than anywhere relationships and stability matter at the back IMO. I can see the case for rotation during a game with the full backs but we don’t really have much strength in depth there.

How do folks, thanks for the approval. Thought you might like to have a look round our site regards this game.
We've done a piece on Ronnie Rees. (Poetry)

Got to be a win. High press, get the ball in the box. Not a game for Sheaf as yet. Couple of goals and a clean sheet will do nicely. Dovin's place is under threat from Wilson.
