Midfielder… finds MVE/Bidwell on the overlap, they put a ball in, easy collect for the goalkeeper - We look so easy to play against at this point

Not even testing the goalie with a shot in the second half is not good enough there

TBF no he’s not. He explicitly said if you’re tired you almost get there. But today we weren’t even close. So not tiredness to blame.
He brought it up.

Maybe it needs new sports scientists to look at Allen.

I don't want to go too over the top but that was pathetic. We didn't look like we had a clue what we were supposed to be doing for large parts of the game. What frustrated me most about today was the lack of energy from the players. It's still early, but it does concern me that we have brought in so many bang-average players for so much money.

Hold on let's not change the record, I was angrier that everybody last season but was told we tailed off because of a small squad and the cup run .. now fans are saying fuck that we should've finished top6 and a cup semi final with tavares coming on away at Southampton?

Wild

I was willing to accept the transitional season but that requires us to transition into something better, not worse.

Few points

  1. Team. Same starting 11 from Weds. seriously WTF. MVE was at half pace most of the game. Haji Wright either knackered or carrying a knock. Kitchimg and Dasilva were excellent against Watford but don’t start. Why didn’t he give Sheaf 45 mins? Simms on the bench. I just can’t fathom the argument for that lineup.
  2. We were well off our game today. We grinded out some chances but 1-2 flatters us.. We have lost to Stoke. Norwich and Swansea, who all looked average at best
  3. Referee. Worst I’ve seen in years.
  4. Swansea - boring team. Knocking it around their defenders, time wasting from the start.
  5. Mason-Clark - Looks clumsy, and out of his depth to be honest. Allen atrocious before his injury.
  6. Rudoni & Eccles played well

Agree with pretty much all of that

Is robins banned from doing stuff in game? The way he does fuck all and then said about wanting to get to half time to speak to the players.

I don't get it.

Because they’ve got microscopes?

If I was Doug I’d have Mrs Whatshername in and say “your job is Haji Wright and only Haji Wright and you’ll be judged on his performances”. We’ve never looked so unmotivated since we got a “Performance Director”.

While I’m on a rant about the new staff, what do we fucking expect getting shot of someone who coached under Mourniho with world class players and replacing them with a couple of U18s coaches who have never done anything?

At the very least Robins needs a proper assistant who knows the game at the level we’re trying to play at.

When their man went down I think it was and there was a break in play he didn’t even call them over for a chat. I couldn’t believe it.

He brought a player on at half time didn't he?

That's doing stuff isn't it? He did try and change it, because apparently, Wright was so bad.

He had a chance when Allen went down. And at any time he could have told Dovin to fake an injury.

Robins looks and sounds downbeat these days, no fire in his belly on show and just a load of tired cliches and excuses. He has been fantastic for us for sure and should be respected for eternity but……..
I do wonder if he’s not happy with changes that have happened around him ?

I have a feeling king will sack him , I need to hear robins interview really .

I really hope I'm wrong
Boateng in?

Would a decent manager tolerate the current set up? They are not going anywhere, you would suspect.

The high profile of the "gang of four' comes in.

Does anyone think they forgot to add on the time for the rain delay?
8 mins was a joke
We wouldn’t have scored but ffs
And as for Eccles getting a card for doing the refs job
Bizarre

This is incorrect - play stopped on 64. Then everyone fannied around for a couple of minutes before we went off.
8 mins added - that means absolutely zero for stoppages/time wasting/subs etc, which today could easily have been 6+.....
Horrendous officiating.

That referring team shouldn’t be allowed near professional football again. Every time I think I’ve seen the worse refs performance some melon comes along and tops it.

This team is missing that burning desire to win, needs essentially Matty James to coach the young players through the games. I'd look to bring in an experienced CB as well. The players are good enough, they just need an old head to guide them through games. Dovin should have gone down after 15 mins, gives the team a couple of minutes for the coaching staff to get the players in and alter things. It's done to us all the time and it's basic stuff yet we're unwilling to do it.

Talk of Robins going is premature, but the pressure is mounting, I can't believe we've spent so much and we still require further additions to get this team ticking.

We don't know how to do that sort of stuff.

Said it elsewhere, but I suspect MR has a bout of the lurgy (partial reason for downbeat interview pre-match)

As for today - particularly first half, their left hand side were getting through MVE / Asante far too easily. I don't know how much the coaching team can see from the far side of the pitch (you'd think they would have someone watching from the 'far' side). It was borderline staggering that nothing seemed to be done to address it. It was the easy/effective out ball for Swansea for the whole half.

Robins naturally goes into preservation mode when things get tough, I think we’ll be seeing Latibeaudiere in midfield next week
