Doug has not spent 40 million-a good chunk of this has come from the sale of Vik and Hamer. Our recruitment feels scatter gun over the last 12-18 months, more about resale value rather than what we need to be successful now. Robins might have said in his after match interview today that he is ultimately responsible for everything on the playing side at the club but when it comes to recruitment is he really getting his way? Remember this is a manager who bought In Doyle and Fadz who both did great work for us.
Completely agree with you, the Bassette signing is evidence of that. I’m sure Robins would have been crying out for bodies in the midfield at the end of the window but was given another young player to develop with an eye on a future sale

But we've not had a bad season yet in 7 .. expectations have been met and now fans want him gone again because of a few bad games without our captain etc ? Crazy mindset
For me we are currently stalling but we ain't going backwards. Ain't no chance of relegation imo so if have to wait another season to get top 6 again so be it I will be patient and keep the faith. Robins always finds a way so far

Simms did score last week and he didn’t play. Kitching played his only league game then he’s left out again.

They are bound to be unhappy

I’m not totally devoid of hope just yet, as we have played really well in spells this season 1st 45 mins against Oxford and Watford and 80 mins of the Spurs match. Played OK in the 1st half against Norwich too.
clearly not good enough, but imagine we’d played like today in all 8 games this season

You can’t rest key players for a cup game, and then decide to not reinstate them for the next league game.
Dasilva, Kiitching, Torp and Simms should have all started. I’d also argue Mason Clark for Wright too

Robins rightly insinuating some players weren't playing for their shirt. Wright going off at halftime would suggest he will be dropped for the next one. I know he is a quiet character but he doesn't look like he enjoys playing for us. I expect he may leave in January. Just hope we don't lose too much money on him.
Doesn't enjoy playing for us?
We've showered him with love last season and he was alive in the first game even if it was Oxford who are currently where, above or below?
What's demotivating a much travelled international footballer?

I can't explain it better than they are just at loggerheads or can't be arsed

The only real 'friendship group ' now within the squad is Rudoni, Milan, Tavares, Sheaf, Eccles

The 'Barnsley boys' as they're known couldn't give a shiny one and haven't since they joined.

I'm gonna shutup now because I will start sounding like a bitchy little Karen with a vendetta against certain players (like I apparently have one with Doug)

All really is not well and it's not like last season where players were bedding in, finding their feet etc this is more off field, and I can only see it ending with Robins carrying the can
If it’s as obvious as you say then Robins needs to take some of the blame.
I am a Robins fan but he should have had each player in his office individually and told them, either their attitude changes or they’re gone. And gone with a reputation of a bad apple.
He should have then had them all together and sorted it out, and left them to to have their own meeting after.
Sheaf as captain is letting him down here and should be more vocal.
And someone needs to chin Wright. 😀

hopefully, if saka is fit again, we can drop bta. he plays far too narrow, clearly thinking he can decide things like that, not the manager.
it affects our shape, and leaves that flank wide open. check out their 2nd goal yesterday.
fair play to mve for calling him out during the game. we need more of that all round.

the players aren't in the right frame of mind when they take to the pitch. we're having to go a goal or 2 down to get us fired up.
we need an assistant manager who's not afraid to shake the players up. and we need them PDQ.

Robins going on about players seeing us as a stepping stone….isnt that exactly King’s philosophy though?

A little too soon to include bassette in the starting 11. Allen is not the answer at the level we are trying to achieve. Play your best 11. they are pro footballers, all this talk of heavy legs etc is crazy. They do nothing else but run around a football pich for 90 minutes several days apart. If that risk injury then you seriously need to look at your training techniques.
Robin's see's what we all see. Hes honest and a good manager. The problem lies within the expectation being thrown out there prior to the season starting and clearly the new system of coaching set up since the departure of Vivash. When players are not doing what they have been asked to do, then clearly there is confusion among them. That confusion I believe is coming from the coaching team. It's not working. Whether that's the personel or the communication is yet to be addressed.
We will be fine but Robin's must now address the coaching side and get what he wants, and if required make changes to the personel.
Just on the keeper front. I'm not impressed with Dovin. he looks nervy and fails to come for crosses. Wilson showed the other night how good he really is. I was surprised he didn't keep his place for Swansea.

Wilson is inconsistent , poor on crosses he may look ok for the odd game but was crap last season. Dovin hasn't done a lot wrong ,he's a young keeper and the club didn't pay 1.6 million to have him on the bench.

It’s ridiculous

People comparing him to gyokeres and him starting over Simms who scored last game

joke
Sorry but Simms has been rubbish.
Admittedly Robins' completely scattergun approach to picking the team can't be helping anyone. The bloke has no clue what his best 11 is.

Fair comment, I meant the watford game

Yeah, I knew. But I think the point Im making is when we get in these situations everyone thinks theres a selection or formation tweak than can turn our fortunes round.

I think we just need a collective change in work ethic and attitude throughout the club, regardless of who the starting 11 are or whatever the formation is.

I noticed Bidwell having a go at a player who didn't seem to be getting into position defending a corner. Not sure who it was but he repeated his instructions to no avail. Clearly pissed off.

As has been said many times we don't get the basics right - all over the pitch.
Not at all helped by chopping and changing and playing people out of position.
Decide on the first 11, coach them properly on the basics and play them for at least half a dozen games.

We need to do the basics first. That’s means we need to start with keeping a clean sheet. Do that then you might have a chance at least picking up a point let alone a win.

And if the best 11 doesn't include new signings like BTA and EMC then tough.
BTA moaning about being played in his least favoured position on the right pissed me off. The guy got a first team chance against Spurs and moans. Then rows with MVE against Swansea.

Had BTA moaned? I missed that?

I don't think either BTA or EMC get in our best 11.

After Yesterday's Inept Performance I thought I'd try and Lift the Mood.

Went on YouTube and Watched the Highlights of.

Cov v Liverpool 4.0 Terry Gibson Hat Trick.

Cov v Nottingham Forest 5.4 Kevin Gallagher Hat Trick and Two from Steve Livingston.

The Forward Line Against Forest Was, Kevin Gallagher, Cyrille Regis, Steve Livingston , David Smith with David Speedie in Midfield.

Now That's What You Call Attacking Football.

If Only, If Only.

Always good to watch the Huckerby goal Man U game.
So much intensity, speed and work rate from Cov players. 100% effort. Every player.
