Because I have just been at the game.

Well done, but because a team loses doesn’t mean the players can’t be bothered

EMC kept coming into the middle of the pitch so when MVE looked up there was no one in front of him to pass the ball to, when EMC went off and BTA went out right he stayed there and that's when we started to get decent crosses into the box. If EMC is a wide player why doesn't he stay out there

You need ball playing centre bsck and both Thomas and kithcing are reluctant to make forward passes to the centre mids

Seems that way.

I just can't believe that Robins has suddenly become a bad manager overnight. It makes no sense.

I think we bought decent players, but that the players do not work together in the system for whatever reason.

Seems what is going on, on the training ground isn't right.

It's baffling.
Is not over night. It's been like it for months.

We weren’t bullied. We looked the better team throughout, but if you’re going to concede stupid goals, you’re not going to win very often.

The second half should’ve been them playing for an equaliser and we get opportunities to catch them out. But no, another embarrassing goal gifted and they get to put 10 men behind the ball to get a smash and grab win.

We look like England in the Euros in attack, running out of ideas quickly. Unlike that team, we just can’t defend.
These are some insane takes on that game. On what planet did we look the better team throughout? We were struggling to cope at multiple points.

I've been quite tame for my standards with this season start

But I've had enough now

We have pissed 45 million away on bollockless, shit footballers and a coaching set up who haven't a fucking clue

We're shit, face it because we're in for a tough time

In a nutshell

He’s a striker playing out wide, he needs to get the ball in space and not in traffic. By the time he gets the ball, the opposition has 8 players in the box more often than not.
If Wilson is the answer we are in bigger trouble than I thought. Lose to Preston and Luton and we are in a battle at the bottom as will Robins will be to hang on to his job.

I honestly think if we had Rohl in as manager we would have won that, Robins limitations have been shown. Maybe what he has done previously is enough, but he can't take us to the next level, I don't know , but things can't carry on as we are. I am so torn right now, this is a crucial time stick or twist, with the squad and players we have, top 6 should be achievable but we seem miles away, maybe now is the time to gamble. God I hate saying this 😒

Sorry we were bullied and in terms of work rate we were nowhere near Wednesday.

Only listened to the second half on way home from work.

We sounded ok on the whole and I think we were trying o get a winner, just not being gung ho about (but still managed to concede).

Again we didn't make changes or react to them. But what's really annoying me today is that you concede in injury time, have two fresh, pacy forwards on the bench plus a midfielder with a decent long shot. Yet you don't bring on any of them. And maybe someone will say they weren't ready to come on or warmed up. WELL THEY FUCKING SHOULD BE!

Maybe Bassette would have been a risk as I think he could be hot-headed but you have to take a risk.

I know we have discussions about the performance directors, the plethora of coaches, who is in charge of recruitment etc. but the one thing we can be absolutely certain MR is in charge of is picking the team, tactics and any changes/subs during the game. And quite frankly we have to admit it has been very very poor - more noticeable this season but a lot of those issues go back a number of seasons.

I'm still not saying he should leave, but you can definitely understand questions being asked of him.

Jesus, it’s mad on here. We got edged out in a tight game. It happens. Where did the narrative that we should just steamroller teams come from? There are good teams in this league. We are one of them. Average displays all round today. Simms looks like he’s checked out. BTA and Eccles were out best performers. Thomas got himself out of trouble well a few times.

it does tend to implode and melt down a lot, but a lot of what you’ve just said tells me you didn’t watch the game today, and haven’t seen much this season?

we are currently a poor team with no aggression, no passion, no clue, and today wasn’t a great second half - we weren’t edged out, Wednesday deserved to win that.

BTA agreed, but Eccles was not our best performer today - misplaced short passes, poor tackling, and probably should’ve done something for the second goal but bottled it

you need to accept we look like we are in trouble this season unless something changes, and fast

but what evidence do you have of that?

There is none, in fact all the evidence points to it being a top 10 squad at best.

all these huge statements being made wihich fly in the face of everything we are seeing
We’re getting comfortably beat at home by Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday, then getting twatted by the actually decent teams in the division.

Mid table at best for this group.

I’d agree with this, the midfield isn’t creative enough and play always slows through them, puts us under pressure and allows the other team to reset - we won’t make the best use of our wealth of attackers, and also play a horizontal pass and lose it and the pressure is back on the defence
Last season proved that if Wright and Simms get chances, they’ll score. Likewise, EMC has close to 40 goal contributions and BTA was WBA’s top scorer. The firepower is there but they need clear cut chances provided to them.

I’m not criticising Eccles or Sheaf as individuals, Eccles is improving and you can that. I just think, as a pair, they’re too similar and want to do similar things. We need someone who can do different things, be it winning the ball higher up the pitch, someone to move the ball vertically or score goals and make more assists. This was my gripe last season (and probably Robins’ too) and it wasn’t addressed in the transfer window and lo and behold, it’s still an issue.

We have to play Bassette and BTA just to get some running and pressing in the team. 3 at the back with wing backs too. Build from there.

I think we might need to play wingback again to try and stop conceding so many goals

Point still stands. Has Robins gone from being a very good manager to a bad one?

He's been here 7 years. Even if it's been a few months, it's still a huge change.

It seems the recruitment wasn't right.

It's not a huge change though?

But you can't tell me if we bought mowbray in tmrw that we wouldn't be attacking like mad men in the next 2-3 games

Prob concede alot but he would have us playing his tactic.

Robins I'm not sure he has a brand of football. He has used a few different formations over his successful period but currently he needs to come up with a solution. The formation might be fine but we're still not brave enough and that might be cos of recruitment but also I do think other managers would get us attacking so I believe robins must do it too. And I believe he can too but he's gotta wanna do it that's the thing.

The usual absolute garbage coming out on here- “the players can’t be bothered”, “this is a top six squad”, “a new manager would get much better results- rubbish.

nothing has changed, there is still something very rotten going on, but with each match you kind of get a bit more of an idea as to what’s causing it all.

1. If Wright is off form we create nothing and are impotent going forward.

2. The squad is blatantly not as good as we were all assuming & hoping

3. we have a massive hole in terms of leadership

4. The new coaching setup at this stage is a failure. Either Robins isn’t listening to them or they have no meaningful input.

5. The players are unable to adapt in matches, appear totally bereft of confidence, and have no discipline in terms of getting pulled all over the place, they don’t look cohesive at all.

Solutions?

King isn’t going to start offloading coaching staff or authorising another huge spending spree.

So.. get an experienced head in asap, someone that can lead, and someone that can bark at people, and someone Robins trusts

apart from that I don’t see what else can be done, aside from get a new manager, and I don’t want that.

there’s still a part of me that thinks “it’ll be ok, it’s like this every year”, but so much has changed that I’m not sure this holds any more.

Going to be honest, not sure what to say at this point.

Team can’t be arsed, Robins lacklustre today. Why he didn’t bring on a sub is madness. Team was absolutely knacked at 70+. Why not bring on Torp and Joel especially with our two midfielders having yellow cards.

Referee was a wanker, lost the game and bottled the big decisions. Not to mention the second goal.

I want Robins to stay, I want him to be the manager who completes league two to the Premiership at one club. But at this moment, I really don’t know what to think.
