I have seen every game this season live or on ifollow from Saudi Arabia and I have read or listened to fans say Doyle is past it, loses possession or his distribution is poor.
My take on his performances is that it there is no difference to his performances last season. He is not an enforcer despite what some say, he is not a playmaker nor quarterback, he is a talisman that encourages and offers a ball out to players, he is the guy who gets in the refs ears all game, in summary he is the only player we have who can hold the team together.
That's why I say drop him at our peril and be careful what you wish for.

Robins knows ultimately we only have clarke Harris now as the out and out forward - he will I guess ship Hiwula it Bakayoko out in January if he can and replace with someone whose a typical number 9
Said all season we need a number 9 Jayden Stockley from Exeter would do.

MOTM clearly Luke Thomas I think Willis struggled against their striker today put himself about well.

I thought it was a good game today and a fair result with both teams knocking it around and creating chances.

Ogogo was disappointing for me. Kelly looked a much better option when he came on.

Doyle was typical Doyle, do something good followed by something woeful.

Hiwula started well and then faded, Luke Thomas started with poor touches and erratic control and got better.

Tom Davies needs to keep his hands off players shoulders, I thought he got away with a lot today.

Player I was most impressed with was Junior Brown. Refreshing to see a professional footballer who is comfortable playing the ball with both feet.

So he has zero ability and all he has is a mystical belief referees take notice of a known whinger (which they will be well aware of beforehand)

Players have no influence on decisions it’s a myth

Actually you do him a disservice - last season the performances themselves were more positive than expected.

In league one it’s beyond him

You sound like Geoff Foster - “every team needs a Michael Doyle” - as you go up the leagues the good teams in those leagues really don’t

A strange game. We didn't play at all well and ended up stealing a point from a match where we deserved a draw! Jones and Kelly as substitutes made the difference, but until Jones provided that ball for Doyle's equaliser, he'd looked a long way from being back to his old self. And anyone who thinks Hiwula is a big improvement on Shipley is deluded. Man of the Match: No one, but with a gun to my head, it'd be Thompson who looks a real prospect.
I think people forget how long he was out and how big am Injury he had for me that was the best I’ve seen Jones today since his return, confidence is coming back touch was there today his speed is getting back week by week.
I would start him next week in the Cup & Bakayoko.

Yes I did, I've watched every game this season.

What's your point?

You seem to be basing it on today. Shipley has had much worse games.

I think I'm suggesting that if you did go, then posting on here every five minutes, means you're not really watching the match. Or were you multi-tasking?

Some of that I do agree with but the major problems I see with him he is a bully to our players and they are scared to miss him out of the play for fear of a bollocking and that he seems to have decided that he is taking all the set pieces and he just isn’t good enough to take them. We missed Bayliss today as he travels with the ball and opposing players at this level struggle to deal with that.

So angry with the ref - their number 9 got away with murder , he clearly had a mickey mouse watch and mickey mouse glasses - we still could have won with that headed goal in the first half - my voice is hoarse swearing at him - apologies to those around me - i am normally a right pussy cat

The beauty of football is it's a game of opinions and I am giving my opinion that we need him. If we were fighting relegation then perhaps your argument would carry more weight.
I could argue that forest green rovers, yoevil, morecombe and Newport were games where Doyle was impotent last season but in this league I believe he has held his own and it's the lack of a consistent partner alongside him that has been an issue.
Doyle ensures the ref is aware of what is going on, that is not a myth
We are high up in division 3, I think he is a big reason that we are on the rise.

When you have several players who can't last 90 minutes, it takes away a lot of the manager's options.
He might want to make a sub but can't because he knows another player won't last the 90.

We did miss Bayliss today but I thought we played okay, that was a game we could have lost in August/September.

Still don't see your point. I was watching the game and posted mostly when the ball went out of play.

Hiwula wasn't very good today, Shipley has been worse this season.

What's your point?

Well, perhaps everything happened when you were looking down at your phone.
In my original post I only said 'anyone who thinks Hiwula is a BIG improvement on Shipley is deluded'.
And I stand by that.
Good for you that you disagree.
I'm really pleased that you have your own opinion.

Everything happened like what? How's that relevant to something you posted after the game?

Do we just write off his last few games where he has been scoring?

Again, whats your point about me being at the game and posting? It's a bit weird.

There's a reason that the law says you can't use your phone while driving.
Or is it, 'a bit weird'?
And as I said, good for you that you have your own opinion.

What's using a phone while driving got to do with anything?

It's not really opinion when facts and stats agree.
