Notts County very physical side - think we will have to line up like this.

Burge
Grimmer
Stokes
Willis
Davies
Doyle
Kelly
Shipley
Baylis
JCH
McNulty

Subs: O'Brien, Haynes, Macdonald, Reid, Vincenti, Ponticelli, Biamou

Are notts county a quality side? No, but there a physical side that along with Lincoln enjoys the dark arts such as faking injuries to stop play and pushing there tackling hounding the red to the limit. I’d like to think the ref will be strong and wise to this as it will covered on sky and I’d like to think county will be aware that they may get away with antics in the first leg but not the second as the red will be watching for it.

Importantly I hope one or two of our players man up and stand up to physical side of the game for chance.

I think we need Davies in at the back, if Willis is fit then bring him in too. McDonald is still petrified of Ameobi.

Oh and to stay consistent, somebody needs to absolutely smash their number 18 early on.

Wouldn't be a match thread without a Nick 'break him in half, go right through him' comment. Shouldn't mock though, as I sort of agree with him - if e.g. Bayliss is having a stormer, it wouldn't be any surprise to see someone take him out in the first game to try and have him injured for the second leg. A battle it will be; let's hope we are up for it - looking forward to both legs !!

The last game their 18 should have been sent off about 4 times, he was in the refs face, he was booting the ball away, he was taking our players out after the ball and all sorts. We just let him do it. Mcdonald let Ameobe elbow him in the bollocks and just took it, rather than making a scene of it and showing a bit of fight.

Just had a look and it doesn’t look like their number 18 was in the squad for their last game. Do you know who he is?

totally agree that no.18 wants a massive boot up his arse. they are cloggers. so we need to get physical. Davies and Willis will be middle 2. I'm not that bothered if we draw first leg. just don't lose it. we should be good enough to do an 2nd leg. Then hoping for Lincoln, another bunch of hoof ball cloggers. Just need to kick em.

Well Willis certainly won’t be playing, according to the fans forum on Facebook he is off to Rotherham and this is concrete proof
surely that is from last year as he had talks with them and could not agree terms= didn't want to move sideways as Rotherham are shit

Have Dion KE on the bench and bring him on in case of intimidation tactics

I may have been over-expectant but thought tickets would be flying out much quicker than they currently are...

I think Reid must play, their lack of pace through out their team needs to be exploited for the first leg. I think they'll come here and stick 10 men behind the ball and counter us and then try and beat us at their place. I think we're a far better footballing team then they are. If Vincentti is fit, I'd also play him, not the best by any stretch of the imagination but he won't be intimidated by them. Leaves us Bayliss fresh for the second half and again I think he could find some joy with his forward runs in the last 20 mins. It's vital we're strong in defence. If we play as well as we can do, we could be out of sight going into the second leg.

Starting line up

Burge
Grimmer, Willis, Davies, Stokes,
Vincentti, Kelly, Doyle, Reid,
McNulty, Biamou.

We’d get hammered if we played that team

I don't want Vincenti anywhere near the team. His chronic lack of pace slows our attacks & although he is tall he isn't particularly good in the air. I also think Bayliss is already physically stronger. I've seen noting from Vincenti that makes me think he would stand up to Lincoln/ Notts type tactics any better than Bayliss would.

Don't get me wrong, Vincentti is dire, I more thinking about protecting Bayliss and using him for the last half hour where his bursts from midfield will be an asset.

For me Bayliss looked knackered on Saturday and could do with a rest

If Willis is not fit I would keep the same team but rest Bayliss and bring in Reid. With their lack of pace and us being at home could put them on the back foot

Bayliss would suit the away fixture more if we have something to hold on to

If Willis is fit I’d play same as last week but Willis for hyam and Reid for Bayliss

Stick with form, the issue is not who but in what shape
Burge Grimmer, Willis, Davies, Stokes, Bayliss, Kelly, Doyle Shipley, McNulty JCH
- not sure on the best way to use Biamou - probably as sub, but don't feel strongly either way
- key thing is that Bayliss is not left out on the right wing, leave that to Grimmer. Bayliss should be forward tucked behind the front two

if JCH plays, it will be a toss up who hits the turf first, him or c/h Richard Duffy, that twat was falling down at every chance in the last game. God, he was feckin shite when he played for us (3 times he came back)

Was in Barcelona for that game - will be there this time, though - hopefully we will have learned from the experience - wouldn't harm to bring on the DKE twins in the last 5 mins of the first leg to take out one or two of their 'main men'

We owe this lot, pleased we have them and I fancy is strongly to win comfortably over 2 legs. We've broken with tradition though and will be watching from the posh side. Still only in the cheap seats (block 36) but never experienced a game from that side, just fancied a change

I was sitting across from him on the train after Crawley (on got on at Three Bridges), he claimed to a CCFC fan talking to him that Ameobe 'tried' to elbow him, which I think was utter rubbish.

Coventry now out and out favourites with most bookmakers, interesting to know why? I know it’s obviously dictated by where the money is being placed but interesting to know why we are being backed? Thoughts?

There's more of 'us' than any of the 3 other teams?

I've got a horrible feeling we're trading tight home wins and then it's going to penalties.

I just can't call this, we seem to play well for 1 game then shite for a few games, if the team are up for it and keep a clean sheet we could well sneak a win at the Ricoh but fuck me I feel nervous about all 3 games we potentially have to play
