In other news I just found out that possession stats stats in football are just proportion of passes made and nothing to do with how long you have the ball.......mind blown.
Sorry for taking this off topic for a sec, but that means if our goalie keeps possession for 89 minutes, without passing it to anyone, then they have it for a minute and pass it 19 times, it will show they have had massively the most possession?????? (something like 95%)

And back on topic, if we were going to play 2 up front we could have used JCH and Hiwula. I see him playing an identical role to McNulty.

Edited to add, its a nice day, we havent been at home for a couple of weeks, and we have a new signing. 11,000 would be nice.

First home game for me, as I've missed first two due to hols. Really looking forward to it!

Nowhere near 12,000. Will be around 8500.

Strange one re: attendance. Most will be back from their hols now, so they should be back (me included). nice day plus Chaplin, so a few extra walk ups. I think anything above 9,000 is reasonable given a) the opposition, b) their lowish away following and c) the core level of home support we had last year.

I have a feeling Chaplin will replace Ponticelli on the bench, then get on for Andreu on about 65-70.

Godiva being on won't help. Day trippers will be there.

And if the investment turn out to be a dud, where is the escape? I think the 2 year strategy followed last year is the wisest
If he turns out to be as good as we hope, he’d have to be sold after 1 year or risk him walking away for nothing after 2 years.
MR obviously has faith in the lad, and his contract shows that.

If you have all players on 2 yr contracts, you are constantly having to negotiate / review. The players must have it on their mind, which must be unsettling. A longer contract (barring the odd dud - David Bell?) removes the uncertaint and, with a good player, drives up the selling price. It must be a real ball ache having to deal with agents all the time. Wouldn't fancy it myself (I know i'd lose my temper a lot, and I'm easy going!)

Personally I'm hoping he tries out a 532 with willis, davies and hyam as full backs, and sterling and mason as web's. could be exciting.

Got a question guys. Anyone know any follow links to watch the match? Tried the VPN thing but couldn't get it working for the last game.

You need a higher % than most managers achieve of successful purchases. Of ours at least three out of six are lookung dubious

I live in the UK.
I do go to matches but live in London so can't always travel up. I set up a vpn to watch a couple of games this season through follow but that isn't working any more :/

Just try a new VPN...old one may be blocked.

You are correct in your crazy off topic example.

In other news I'm in the casino and it's the quietest I've seen it at this point for a very long time.

How have they signed Zak Clough!?

Jeez thats the signing of the season...he got Bolton promoted 2 years ago and is a proven in the championship. £3M plus he cost.

Hopefully cant play tommorow

God knows how they've signed him but a great signing by all accounts. He'll be a big threat today.

Just try different VPNs / Servers.
