Top of the league, a game in hand, brilliant side playing attractive football.... what on earth could burst our bubble. The only thing now I'm worried about is this bloody corona virus. If cases increase in this country significantly and they bring in public assembly restrictions like France and the rest of the seasons fixtures are postponed … or cancelled, what will happen to the season so far regarding promotion and relegation? There's contingency rumours of finishing the season early, cancelling the season altogether.

I think if that happens then the league positions for promotion and relegation should stand, as for the play-offs, play behind closed doors.

It's to far into the season to cancel it.

Everything Sunderland do comes through Gooch and Maguire, we got the goal early today and then put the task to them to do something when we take those two out of the game. They couldn't do it. That is a template for other teams to beat them.

People were saying that Kelly was poor but every time Maguire got the ball in the first half Kelly was on him. He was definitley doing a job there today.

Kelly clearly isn't playing to the standard he was earlier in the season, it's not moaning to mention it and discuss it. I personally think it's down to fatigue or an injury, but it's madness to expect people not to mention it.
Robins obviously thinks that a half fit Kelly is worth playing so that's fine by me but his performance level had definitely dropped.

There were a number of misplaced passes from him yesterday and let us not forget, there have been games in the past where he has ran the show and been outstanding, so I don't think it is asking too much to expect a better performance from him.

We know he has it in his locker.

He didn't play like anything like to the standard we know he is capable of yesterday.

As said above, even if Kelly is slightly injured/fatigued, he still warrants a place on the pitch.

So much defensive organising is done by Kelly and Fadz its ridiculous.

Think it’s just three games over the next three weeks which will hopefully give all the players a bit of a breather.

Gutted to have got knocked out of the cup but got to say, finances aside, happy enough that it’s happened now

I guess the question is would it be worth resting him for a game or two and if so are there games we could manage without him?

If so it’s probably the two game’s after Ipswich

I totally get that argument and that's probably why MR leaves him in.
When we conceded that sloppy goal against Rochdale he went round the players dishing out bollockings and geeing them up, being a captain basically.
Just don't think it's moaning to discuss his clear dip in performance levels.

Dead in line with it. Shame the lino wasn't

Yep, similar. Stone wall penalty, both arms extended into Kelly's back else he'd have had an almost unchallenged header.

Difficult for the ref to see & linesmen don't like making those (or any!) decisions. Infuriating at the time, thankfully we were good enough anyway.

He also gets in the ref’s ear the whole time. Learned a lot from Doyler.

I was critical of Kelly against Rotherham but he’s a big part of our formation.

I question whether he’s Championship ready but is definitely an important piece to this squad

Kelly fills that hole in front of defence superbly. We let hardly any goals in apart from a couple of recent keeper errors. I’m not sure who we have to do that job if he’s not there. He is crucial to Robins preferred method of play and probably first name on the teamsheet he might not be the quickest of our midfield but he’s always there doing his job whether the first minute or last.
