In 87 we got to the station at about 7.30am, we were in the first half a dozen or so in the queue. We weren't actually on the platform but in large indoor room that was being used as a holding area and after about an hour the queue snaked around inside this large room and went outside and into the street. We at the front started the Mexican wave and watched as it picked up momentum with everybody joining in. After what seemed like about 5 minutes we could see the wave of hands continuing over the bridge on the Warwick Road.
Stilll makes me smile.

I have reserved a seat (one of several).

If someone is sitting in my seat I shall politely ask them to move.

Only once had someone refuse to move (guess I have one of those faces) and that was because they were booked on an earlier train that was then cancelled.

Can't see a problem myself.

The face of a man who looks like he desperately needs to sit down?

I usually just give them the old puppy dog eyes.

I then normally get back 'Eeugh, yuck. Where on earth did you get them from, they're disgusting?'
Are you also on all fours guiding a blind labrador around? Starting to make sense why everyone stands up for you now.

Had to ask someone to move once. The train was packed, and when i got to my booked seat, it was already taken. Asked him to move, and he pointed at the electronic thingy and said it doesnt show as reserved. I showed him my ticket, and with a huge moan, he did actually move, Grabbed his bag, and walked away moaning back at me.

5 minutes later, there was an announcement saying apologies, but as there was a problem with the original train, this is a replacement, and the seat reservation service is not in operation....

I've got a feeling a lot will be on the the 0851. Doubt they'll be checking tickets or be able to! Expecting to be stood for the duration.
