Too many cooks on the case now. The intention was to 'show appreciation for the work completed by Robins'. As soon as you start including other people on the flag, the list of people becomes too great and it waters down the message.

He also might be sacked by Christmas or be managing Villa. Will people really think he is a legend then? 'Sent to Coventry' is perfect. It relates to the city, it isn't putting a controversial rank on his achievements and it is appreciating him right now in the moment.

You are thinking too literally.

Jimmy Hill left but still a legend.

MR will leave some day but always be a legend to us.

.... and fuck other fans
Perhaps I am thinking a bit too literally, I still don't like it though.

The very first post was spot on. Simple and to the point. It seems everyone just wants their own design now.

The more this goes on the more I think no text. Just a stylised image of Robins and the two tone colours will do.

We get it, but Robins wasn't sent to Coventry, he came of he's own free will.

But I have sent Grendel to Coventry.

Good to see someone agree with me on this one. The phrase just doesnt make sense in this scenario.

Yes the phrase means "no one's talking to you"

That doesn't apply to Mark Robins.

Look, mate, I used to rent my TV off Radio Rentals and that didn't make sense either, but I still did it.

Oh sorry, did we get out of the wrong side of the bed today.

That was you was it? Wonder who snuck in-between the sheets at 10 past midnight.

That's why you couldn't get out of the right side of the bed. Ha ha .

Whoever’s in charge, I hope you’re not one of those who manage to spell Robins’ name wrong! I’ve seen some dumb variations.

King Robbins/Robin’s

I'm working on a few designs of my own, however if another wins I am more than happy to polish it up/size it correctly, ect ready to send!

There is a deeper meaning to the phrase "sent to Coventry" though, in our context.
It is widely thought the origin is this.
The phrase sent to Coventry comes from The English Civil Wars of the 1640s. The Royalist troops, nicknamed The Cavaliers, who were captured in Birmingham by the Roundheads, lead by Oliver Cromwell, were sent to a Parliamentary stronghold prison in Coventry.
The fact that people in Birmingham (troops) were sent to Coventry, is the reverse of what happened to us.

Good thing about that one is we could just get a patch to sew over the initials if MR left. Unless our next God-like manager is black.
