Interesting theory but I dont think its true. Im sure everyone at the club hoped we'd get off to a flyer this season. Theres probably more to this than meets the eye though. None of us know what goes on behind the scenes, but if the rumours about issues with players are true, coupled with our inability to hold onto a lead over the last twelve months, it may not be a bad call.
I like Thorn as a man, not the most eloquent of managers but a genuine, hard working bloke who did his best for the club. However, even taking into consideration the problems behind the scenes we have been caught short too many times. Yesterday appears to be the final straw. The biggest frustration as a fan is seeing things unfolding on the pitch and the manager not reacting. I wasnt there on Tuesday but understand we were crying out for changes, yesterday was the same, either tactical changes or a change in personel were required when it was 2-1 but nothing happened.
On the surface it appears a bit of a harsh, knee jerk reaction but as others have said we've had the same issues over the past 12 months or so.
