CWR constantly banging on about the play offs ....... (1 Viewer)

Is anyone else irritated by the likes of CWR constantly telling us that we are are only 6,7,8 , 35 points from the play offs? This morning on the sports news there it was ......."the sky blues have slipped lower down the league..........but are still 8 points from the play offs" .

Why do it ? I could understand it if we were one place from the play offs and 8 points adrift, because out league position would indicate that we were the most likely team outside of the play off positions to get in because everyone else in the table was below us but , as we know, most of the league are above us.

Is it because we are traditionally a "bigger name" or play in a big stadium, or won the F.A. cup. ?

Are fans of Scunthorpe, Walsall etc subjected to this overly optimistic tosh ? Perhaps they are.

I'm irritated by CWR constantly not just with your bugbear. The commentators on matchdays are scared to speak the truth on SISU or goings on behind the scenes for a start. They giggle with each other during games like a couple of teenagers, and go on about Nuneaton or Leamington when you're trying to listen to how we are getting on.I've stopped listening now as they come across as SISU and Pressley lovers !

Clive Eakin's defence of Pressley becomes more cringeworthy by the week. Even then the questions that are put to SP after a game are ones which allow him to repeat the same deluded or meaningless nonsense every week along the lines of 'I accept full responsibility for what's going on' and 'the players' work rate was terrific'. They have got to put the guy on the spot.

If the play offs were relevant it would be appropriate , but they are not. Relegation is a distinct possibility. They discuss both in the same breath. Ridiculous.
Yeovil are off the bottom of the league. They might yet go up.

Got to admit the CWR commentators are rubbish. No enthusiasm and no quality. It seems they have literally picked two people from the street who aren't Cov fans to just big up the team and the manager.

I genuinely think they are scared to question sisu and SP. Why anyone listens I don't know. I always go for Internet updates myself.

I thought that Stuart Linnell had been a bit more critical of what's going on at the club recently.

Agreed. Over many, many years I think he has always been loyal to the club as a supporter and as a journalist/ commentator. Seldom has he let slip his own sense of frustration on the air but in recent times it's obvious he is not at all happy with what he is witnessing. I have a lot of time for Stuart Linnell but the rest leave a lot to be desired.

...bring back Rob Gurney.

What they should do is work out the number of players who haven't featured since Worcester-gate's "some players will NEVER play for this football club again" and pose the question to SP if he really meant what he said. Watch him try and wriggle his way out of that one.

I didn't know they interviewed after games anymore,

I thought they just replayed an old interview

I don't think some of those people on CWR even watch the same game as me.

As I have said on a previous thread when Pressley says that there were some good points out there today ask him what they were don't go to the next question.

It's always the same never challenge a statement just move on to the next question

It has got to the point where they should be ashamed to call themselves journalists
