Can’t see him featuring again in Sky Blue. Shame as he was quality. But confidence shot, speed gone and become injury prone. Really Hope I’m wrong….

Since being here at least hes always suffered with injuries around abdominal injuries, Hips and connected tendons / muscles. To me it suggests that the club have never got on top of it. Hopefully now with the new ownership the club can make steps forward in being able to arrange better treatment / more medical staff etc.

Looks like he has bulked up a bit since the league 1 season - maybe this is working against him from an injury perspective - not that I am a medical expert may I add.

I've been saying it for a while but i think his body can't cope with the physical demands of Championship football. The pace of the game is quicker, teams are quicker and stronger, he's having to play on the limit week in week out, plus training which be more intensive too.

Unfortunate news. No one really knows the details of his contract but if it’s not that high we could give him another year as back up

I don’t think he has been 100% fit for a long time has played not fit and it shows. Think his time here might be coming to an end but let’s get him properly fit and see if he can re-produce his form when he started here.

That list of out of contract players that someone posted in another thread says we have a one year option on him. If true, I’d be amazed if we don’t take that up - Robins clearly trusts him and we have more important parts of the pitch that require more attention.

Should do right by him and nurse him through rehab but then probably time to move on. Shame as he was my favourite player for a couple of seasons. In league one dabo the tank engine lol so good

We’ve got an option on him so he likely would be cheap. Not as cheap as not paying him at all of course and we have Burroughs and Eccles in that position who are likely cheaper.

i think robins rates him as part of the squad

I think he wants Eccles to play more centrally however he does offer good cover for the wing back position too

Dunno but we need to move him on, it's doing the team no good for him to play a few matches and then get injured again
Completely agree, since we have been in the championship he has missed nearly half a season every year, and because it always takes him 5-6 games to get going you only get 20 good games out of him every season. With funds limited we can't afford to keep someone who misses so many games every season back up or not.

I can't believe so many want to keep him.

I agree with most of the above. Keep him as back up and bring a first choose RWB in.

I think his previous injuries have just left him prone to recurrences and he'll likely suffer from it for the rest of his career, eventually getting other injuries due to stress on other areas of his body due to the weakness.

If I was in charge I'm not sure if I'd take up that option and instead look for a replacement. But given the scale of the rebuild needed over the summer and that MR likes him I expect we'll keep him.

oh come on, most of us are Dabo fans including me, but what has he done, yeah player of the season 19/20 but since then nothing, not scored a single goal, he is injury prone now, time for him to move on, we have but Dabo hasn't

And I think that’s what he will be, can be an asset off the bench with his direct play just get him fit ffs! I think new wing backs will be on the Robins shopping list in the summer although we have the lad we signed from Spurs in the summer who is on loan somewhere, fingers crossed he might deliver.

Decent when fit and switched on but i don't think he is both enough. I would look to move him on and work with Burroughs development and bring in another to compete for the starting spot.

I like the idea of Eccles to be pushed more central and find the solution at RWB.

At his best, he helps the flow of attacks as he’s technically good with pace and drive. His crossing has always been crap. His lack of assists confirms that. Likeable player but he needs to be moved on. Need a high quality replacement though. Burroughs looked fantastic at LWB but I was less convinced when he played RWB.

What, that a player comes back before he's fully fit for the team? You can't be that stupid to not acknowledge that's a possibility, surely?

He's been trying to get fully fit for about two years. Where have you been during this time? I think it's a very soft take to think suddenly a couple of weeks out and he's going to come back like a new player.

It's unusual but it's happened.
Sometimes there's an underlying problem which they can't get to bottom of and when they do its a fairly simple fix.
Kieron Dyer is an example.
Not saying that is the case with Dabo, but it could be. I certainly think theres more to it than just a succession of injuries, but of course, he could still be fucked.

Injuries have really impacted him, seems nervous to stretch himself since the last injury and a shame as a good player who looked at times like he could be great. Hopefully, he can rehabilitate well and get back to the Dabo we first had.
