McNulty has been doing that ALL season. Don't disagree with the point though!
A lot of people, influenced that great Barcelona team managed by Pep, have become purists. I honestly do not care how we play if the result is a positive one. Look at Southampton, they sacked Puel for his footballing philosophies, one glance at where Leicester are compared to Southampton tells you all you need to know. Never sack a manager over a footballing 'ideology' if results are good.
Football manager's need to be utilitarian, there's no point playing tiki-tac football when you have two 6"4 strikers with two left feet. Always build your style with what you've got.
I think the Cowley's should stay at Lincoln until they've taken them as far as they possibly can, at this point, I think L1 is about Lincoln's limit.
I agree with most of what you say but not on this. I want to see us win but I want to see us win playing good football. Anyone growing up watching the Fergie, Wallace and Hutch team of the late seventies will know how exhilarating that football was. That is the style I would like to see us at least aspire to play. I also hate the timewasting and cheating that went on last night and would feel the same if we were doing it. It is ant-football and needs to be stamped out.A lot of people, influenced that great Barcelona team managed by Pep, have become purists. I couldn't. I'd give up if I had to watch us hoof and cheat our way to 3 points every week.
I agree about JCH. Needs to stay on his feet and stop falling over. I think McNulty takes a lot of stick and I don’t see him going over unless he has forced to.Not to mention his persistent diving. He and JCH will go down under the slightest amount of contact.
I’d rather win/lose with some dignity than push the laws of the game.
I totally disagree with your comment. Everyone I spoke to at work said straight away bunch of cheats and I’d never pay to watch that behaviour.I can guarantee 90%+ of fans would disagree and this pov only appears when we've lost.

Ha ha yes, I’ve praised them a lot this week. Several promotions to there cv, with cup success too climbing up from non league.
Young English managers breaking into the pro game still having success in a cut throat business where every supporter can do your job and better and bringing success to every club they’ve managed and reigniting a fan base at Lincoln.
Just the thing a club like us would love.
Do agree I’d like to beat them in the final tho deploying some of the tricks used against us from that of Lincoln, Accrington, Notts County....

When it came to actually football on the deck They looked like rabbits in headlights. EVERY time Grimmer or Bayliss or Kelly ran at them they couldn't handle it. Just an old fashioned, body on the line, throw yourself in the way block. In terms of footballing ability, they have zero, in terms of grinding out wins using hoofball and bully boy tactics, they're the team to beat.Indeed. Nothing to do with homework, they played to the players at their disposal. We failed to defend it properly. Making out it was some sort of master class belies what actually happened. We should have scored twice second half so we weren't exactly bossed.
Yep. I was shouting to the ref from the stands but I don't think he heard me.Every single time we had a free kick or Burge had the ball there would be a Lincoln player stood in front of them to slow it all down. I'd stick that in the 'things wrong with football' thread. It's unsportsmanlike conduct and should be a booking.
Same here. Would feel EXACTLY the same if it were the City doing it.I totally disagree with your comment. Everyone I spoke to at work said straight away bunch of cheats and I’d never pay to watch that behaviour.
I don't like it when the City do it, I truly don't. I see Grimmer constantly stealing yards for throw-ins and hate to see it.Surely laws are there to be pushed and be taken advantage of as much as possible without actually breaking them?
How many times does a player steal an extra 2 yards for a throw in or go down with a head injury to stop an attack?
That's where robins should be exploiting that by putting reid on to run at them. When it came to actually football on the deck They looked like rabbits in headlights. We did cut through them easily at times on Tuesday. That's where robins should be exploiting that by putting reid on to run at them.
Well said. Totally agree.Laws are not there to be broken. The sort of tactics teams like Lincoln employ are cheating pure and simple and should be clamped down on my refs.
So should diving or anything else, even for our players.
And yes I’d rather watch us lose 3-2 playing passing football than see us repeatedly win 1-0 using dirty tactics and shit football.
It’s called the beautiful game for a reason.

I just hate to see it full stop and it kills all entertainment value.
Why? Totally and utterly disagree with you.Ridiculous
About mid way through the 1st half I could see a change was needed. I'd of went 3-5-2. Using Davies to sure up the CH position and nulify Rhead, and using Grimmer and Haynes/Reid as wing backs, giving them freedom to run at them and leave the 3 CH to worry about defending. That's where robins should be exploiting that by putting reid on to run at them.

From the Lincoln forum. They loved the ref, and accepted that he tried but failed to control their cheating:-
Excellent performance from the man in the middle last night
Same here, he ignored all the play acting (including Rheady's 'head injury' when they scored),
The only blot on his night looked like the Coventry penalty shout before we broke away for the 4th goal. That looked a nailed-on pen on the tv.
Decent ref, has for their pen shout, it's about time we got a decision go our way.
Actually handled Lincoln's 'game management' very well
didn’t fall for any of their antics in the first half or our time wasting in the second.
Course I cheer. Who said I don't cheer? That's a nonsense, RB.What a lot of Bollox Gamesmanship is part and parcel of football always had been from appealing for a throw in you know isn’t yours to a dodgy pen. So Otis we get that very iffy penalty you don’t cheer when it hits the back of the net ?
Are you a vicar ?
I don't mind a bit of gamesmanship and time wasting but that was a different level to anything I've ever witnessed. Absolutely outrageous and needed a stronger referee to take heed of the situation and ensure it didn't go any further. When a team is timewasting in the last few minutes of a game I get it, don't like it but I get it, but that was going on for the entire second half on Tuesday and it was a piss take.
What irked me the most however is that we stood back and let them take the piss. People should have been on at the ref from the moment it started to shut it down. We didn't show fight or commitment in challenges which meant they could just control the flow of the game and once you throw a few cynical fouls in there, the conditions were there for them to end the game as a contest.
This is another of my pet hates - there should be a break in the advertising triangles so that the ball boys can be quicker when we are loosing - they should be allowed to put the ball on the line ready for the lazy *ucker opponent to get on with it - they should all be capable of a goalie throw - if you saw the Champions league game there was only a few seconds lost as soon as the ball went out - ok they have more money but who wouldnt want to be a ball boy - i'd do it and i'd be a billion times quicker if we were loosing - its an area where we are not optimising -!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Another thing is why aren't our ball boys trained properly to help with that?
If I were Burge, if of followed my kick through and gone through him with my studsThat's the thing.
Our players should have been straight over to Rhead telling him to get up and kicking off about it. We just stood about doing nothing, shit scared. The first time he did it when he acted like he had a head injury there was a bit of an attempt but not much.
Refs need to get a grip on it as well, any attempt to fake a head injury to stop play should be an instant yellow.
The other thing is when Rhead was in front of Burge, why on earth didn't he just hammer the ball as hard as he can at him (obviously when it's not going to cause a goal) and then go ape shit at him?
That game needed a bit of bottle from us, it needed a couple of minutes of handbags to show we weren't scared.
