Players are banned for betting breaches, drug use, abusing others in the game. He has to be held to at least the same standards and it's more than one misdemeanor, however yep his mates are bellends and fay ir straight I'm not sure it should even be newsworthy these days.

Players are banned for eg suggesting a throw in first minute and kicking it out of play.
Players are banned for speech that brings the game into disrepute.
I'm not sure why you want to fight the good fight in martyrdom on every subject at the moment. I won't deny it's a bit of a witch hunt, or that his sexuality isn't an issue, or that his mates aren't bellends, but quite simply he did wrong, no excuses and needs to own it and be gone from the game.

Back on topic, morally, he hasn't done much wrong, but you can't be caught on camera when you're a high-profile ref snorting cocaine and calling a high-profile manager a c**t and get away with it, even if it's nothing most people would disagree with.
I feel a bit sorry for him, tbh; he's been stung by people far more odious than he is.
