Absolute beast. Makes a massive difference to the defence. You’d be hard pushed to find a better back two than him and Willis at this level. Compliment one another perfectly.

He pocketed their 8ft striker.

Man mountain and been missed, was annoyed that he wasn’t picked once available, would have done so much better against Lincoln and the other teams recently.

McDonald not even in the squad today ... Robins evasive on why ("I pick the team") ... lends some support to those rumours.

Not going to be playing it out of the back but he wins most things in the air and just gets it clear. Not much pissing about.

best defender at the club. If he'd played Tuesday we'd have got at least a point.

What rumours?

The truth is, McDonald hasn’t been good at all recently. He had absolute mares against Yeovil, Lincoln and gave away a cheap goal v Stevenage.

It must be frustrating for Tom Davies, every time he seems to establish himself as a first choice, he gets injured.

The perfect antidote to those teams who want to play directly against us.

He was brilliant today, McDonald has been dire for weeks so rightly lost his spot. Defence looked solid with Davies and Stokes.

This guy was a bit of surprising signing when we got him, didn't expect him to sign for us. I like him, but the games he has played and when I have seen him, he hasn't been as dominant as he should be/expected. Glad he stepped up today, but love Rod, been solid for most of the season.

there were a few rotten that day..... I haven't seen a team like lincoln be so effective before at our place, 2 6"2 + lumps up front.

I don't know what's wrong with him, he was brilliant at the start of the season, now it looks like he's never played football before. Davies and Stokes both came in today and looked far superior to McDonald and Haynes. Both must keep their places.

I do think we need to be critical of Robins here. Yesterday he got things right, but on Tuesday, with all the physicality that Lincoln brought, Davies should have been in.

It might well have made all the difference and I am sure we wouldn't have been bossed in the air the way we actually were on Tuesday night.

Error there from the manager.

Robins will make mistakes but looking at our league position and actually having something positive to play for on the last game he has done more things right than wrong for us...long may it continue we can forgive a few glitches along the way

100% agree

Davies was fantastic and deserves to keep his place but lets not now act like rod haa been poor all season. Huge part of why we can still get promoted

Davies if he had played more games would have been in with an outside shout possibly for player of the season. I’m surprised when we signed him that some Pompey fans were glad to get rid of him and thought he was garbage. I suppose things can go stale for a player at a club and a change is the best option for both. A Beavon type scenario maybe?
