She's about the only one that didn't get thrown under the bus last night.

It's all a bit weird. If anything the level of defensiveness over her makes me ask even more questions.

Keep asking the questions, you’ll get the same answers while her role at the club remains the same!

Is it any wonder she didn’t get thrown under the bus given what her role entails? People aren’t defending her, they’re just pointing out what she actually does.

Although I would attend "An Evening with GIMOC & Dawkins".
Dawnkins actually sounded grounded and reasonable last night on that twitter pod. Considering the stuff he's posted about King etc it was interesting to see. Gimoc on the other hand is going into full on double down mode. It's very entertaining

austin seems to be king go to person

His course shows that as much

Im saying his cv is far from great. since he’s come in we’ve spent 40 mill on what exactly?
According to Doug King and Dean Austin last night the manager approved the signings, so there needs to be a collective responsibility on questioning whether the players were good enough, not just "well Dean Austin spent poorly".

In terms of managers having a say on transfers this isn't unfamiliar so I'm inclined to believe this was actually the case.

We need to find out who the chef is as well, too much sugar causing crashes!

Yeah this is how I’m seeing the current blame game. It’s just taking a little longer for some people to move on is all I think. I really hope we start doing okay when the new head coach comes in and it will allow people to relax their suspicions.

My big concern with King bigging up Dr Clare, is that he quoted that she has the players as fit as anything, if so, then why do we have so many out injured at any one time. I know there will be some injuries that are borne out of playing, bad tackles, Bassette getting cut off at the throat, but we seem to have players who are suddenly missing from the squad at the last minute with slight injuries. If this is the fittest team we've every seen, then I worry for the rest of the season

Just me that’s happy with signing success rate?

even the poorer players I think there’s decent players there.

the squad balance is slightly off - need a CM like, but generally happy with the quality we’ve signed

No I think most of the new signings are good and the ones that aren’t haven’t had lots of times to prove themselves. Even some of the more limited players can play their part in a good squad I think. Looking forward to seeing a couple of good centre mids in Jan though!

I think / assume he was talking in overall running performance from the data etc. Injuries will be happening at all clubs and if anything, I’d say other than Wrights we’ve been pretty lucky so far; look at Norwich as an example.

I would argue there’s a distinct difference between physically “fit” and being injury free

To be honest I don’t get why DK is gooning over Austin and the Dr, but totally cucking the coaching team. They’ve only been here half a season.

it’s clear though that when he finally stops edging us over the new manager he’s gonna get rid of some of the coaching staff. Let’s hope the new manager he gets in isn’t a complete beta.

The main slur being, they were Dougs men forced upon Robins. Which waaaassss bollocks!

It was probably bollocks, but we don't really know for sure do we? Some people have listened to Doug and taken everything he's said as absolute fact.

It still doesn't change my point. He inferred they weren't top level coaches. How do you think they feel turning up for work today? The Performance Director has been defended to the end of earth, but other than the childish comment about coming to Ryton in order to deflect, she still holds some responsibility.

hey?

no one really thought much about austin

All of a sudden he like king right hand man.

king has no football experience. Is he being guided by Austin? Austin cv is shocking. everywhere he’s been he has landed just a few months

If he is king go to person then we should be worried
Jesus wept, he appeared on the panel last night as it was inevitable that there were going to be questions about transfer policy or recruitment, both of which would be handled by your......head of recruitment.

When Doug King was asked point blank about who his advisors were, he didnt mention Austin at all.

Have a day off GIMOC, you're best in small infrequent doses.

Did you not listen to what it is a head of performance does? It isnt about the performance on the pitch, its everything that goes into getting you there in the best physical and mental condition. She has no involvement in training sessions or in game tactics.

The kind of people that really struggle to understand this concept are also the people that have never been anywhere near even interacted with a semi decent standard of sport or performance.

Realistically I’m sure they already know they are not top level coaches. Most people in most organisations understand and accept their level of experience.

I’m still struggling as to what people think the performance director can be held accountable for? Can someone please explain?!

don’t think they bought him to be more senior than just recruitment

feels like Austin is far more involved than we originally thought not sure why you think it’s sensationalist

it’s a valid point
Just said it’s more on the other two than king. And he was brought in as head of recruitment which would be a important senior role?

Could be that over the course of this season, we're taking the opportunity to not risk players with niggles, whereas before we would have had to play them into the ground, have them play through injury and then damage their recovery further leading to them out for longer.

Good example of this was Dabo, in his final season here, he was playing through pain and a knock constantly. Then had a week out, then was drafted back in when someone else got hurt or suspended. He was clearly no where near ready for any football at that point, he got absolutely torn to shreds and couldnt do anything about it and it ended up being his nail in the coffin at the club (and before someone says it, remember he was told he wasnt going to be offered anything at the club BEFORE the play off final).

You have gone off at me about not listening but you haven't read what I've written.

As for a semi decent standard of sport or performance, I have, but don't let that get in the way with you throwing me in with whoever else has been making miscalculated slurs.

I was responding to this "The Performance Director has been defended to the end of earth, but other than the childish comment about coming to Ryton in order to deflect, she still holds some responsibility"

Responsibility for what? She is not involved with anything in game or to prep for game in training = the word performance in performance director, doesnt equate to performances on the pitch.

Just feel like there's another round of sensationalism coming here about a member of staff. We've seen the performance director questioned with little to no substance, we've been told players are refusing to play with little evidence to suggest that's the case.

Something gets squashed and we move on to something else.

Maybe it's just that simply King is a human being and didn't want to go into the firing line alone and wanted some support on questions that are better suited for the Head of Recruitment? Part of the downfall of Robins is that we didn't sign a CM right? Who better to answer those questions?
Basically anytime Robins gets questioned the ITKs pop up with shots at random staff members.

Performances perhaps?

I don't understand why some are getting so defensive about her.

She's been brought in on what will be a top salary to help improve the players performances, and our players performances have not improved. It's therefore OK to ask questions about why that isn't happening. It doesn't have to be a witch hunt.

Instead we've got people getting upset and using the 'sexist' line. She then goes on holiday, and Doug goes in on anyone who also is asking questions. That seems to appease some, who then also don't want to hear any constructive questioning, and just regurgitate what he has said without thinking about it.
