CCC want to strongarm the football club into an unfavourable long term deal at the Ricoh. As an aside, it strikes me as astonishing both sides seem content to let the other set the agenda.
CCC seem quite happy to allow the club to say they'll move somewhere other than CCC boundaries, the club seem quite happy to allow CCC to say there's nowhere suitable for a stadium.
Now, personally,I'd have thought this always needs the swiftest resolution, and surely that requires the last vestiges of chancing and shystering to be blown away from the club by CCC showing there can indeed be a ground in the city, surely from the club POV it needs them to identify potential sites in the city and show us all which ones could work if they could get agreement with CCC. If the club had a genuine site across the county border they'd turn public opinion by declaring it - not like any rival bidder would suddenly see a massive pace of land they hadn't noticed, is it.
If one did either and the other party didn't follow, then that... would be that. I don't mean the dodgy game playing over the rental deals for the Ricoh either, when it was all smoke, mirrors, and headlines, but actual worked efforts.
Now, I appreciated in a financially straightened time the council can't really do that... but surely they could at least say they'd like to include the club in the next local plan? Can't we do away with the nonsensical deadlines, accept it's a decade needed to sort everything but... start trying to sort it?
What's depressing is neither side seems to want to push it, which suggests neither side thinks there's much weight in public numbers to get behind such a project. Personally I don't think that's true, I think enough people care in some form about the club to make it something worth fighting over but... if I'm wrong, and they're right, then the club really does have a problem.

The deal is 2+2 years and the council know the club will have no choice but to play at the Ricoh as they can't afford another sixfields scenario and can't afford to build a new stadium. ACL will hold all the cards in negotiations as they don't need the club but we will still need the Ricoh. ACL will be happy, CCC will be happy that ACL are happy and the football club will be signed up to a shit deal again.
Do you think the club are helping themselves in this situation by continuing with the JR and lining up JR2 should it fail ?

It makes no difference. Wasps are a ruthless organisation - they moved the club 80 miles without giving a fuck what their fans wanted. The notion they will offer us anything other than a commercially powerful deal in their advantage is illogical.
So it makes no difference. If they calculated they'd make more without us we go - if not we stay.
End
It will always be a benefit to have the club there. It will always generate an incremental income and with only occupying the stadium 25 days a year it is not affecting other possible incomes greatly.
Wasps know that CCFC in the PL will boost incomes 10 fold.
The art is set an affordable package for CCFC so they can get there.
Having said that if SISU continue to drag everybody through the courts Wasps might just get pi55ed off with it all and make an irrational decision. Some might say similar to what CCC did ?
No your just getting you excuses in for them when they kick us out.
The deal at the moment is irrelevant to them in revenue terms. Saturday's are the most likely days to have events and we take up a large proportion.
Court cases are irrelevant. The only relevance is how much of their debt we can support them with.
They would never want us in the premier league as that would make our brand far more important than theirs. The crowds would rise and theirs would diminish.
Great rant !!
It's not a rant it's a fact.
There is no way they would want the team in the premier league.
I just hope all the legal action is done and dusted by the time my daughter's kids have grandkids.
She's 11.

Unless it's against sisu, in which case they just make it look like the club's fault. All they would have to say is that the club didn't accept their terms and all.blame would be gone from them.Unless we go on a other rent strike I'll bet that we are offered the same terms. Kicking us out is a PR nightmare and not all sports teams go out of their way to seek those out.

For somebody who sits in the posh seats you should know that's not a fact merely your uninformed highly biased opinion. Evil WASPS took advantage of a commercial opportunity that would never have happened if it wasn't for the Northampton exile.
Depends on what the terms that got turned down were.
In all honestly I think for the majority of fans it wouldn't matter if Wasps asked for £2m a year they would still blame SISU.

I doubt we will be offered the same rent deal, wasps have subsequent took on a massive debt, in which they will need to maximise their income to service, that will mean increasing the rental terms.

So get an agreement now that relates to which league we are in.
Simple as that. I'm going to sort out a deal with my gas provider based on how much I use in August. Bargain.

No deal. Chuck a blowy and a twix in and I'll consider it.
Come on hill. All the club need to do is ask and wasps will give them a cracking rent deal and throw in a load of matchday revenue as long as we say please.

I think the general consensus was that they would allow us a rental kiosk if we paid them handsomely for the usage of it, which is what has happened isn't it?Not saying that will happen but we had the same quip when myself and others suggested that the club should approach ACL about renting a retail kiosk and dump the decorating tables being told from the more "intellectual posters" that it will never happen, they have no interest in what we need. Low and behold, we asked and guess what happened next?
