Fuck them all off. Like MvE but sell him and use the cash to do a complete rebuild. Maybe keep Dovin to develop with a proper GK, otherwise start again. I’ve no idea what people see in Thomas and Kitching, both have the attention span and attitude of a toddler on too many fruit shoots. Binks and Lats aren’t good enough, Bidwell is past it and Dasilva can’t play in a four. And send Austin with them.

Get a couple of young athletic CBs and an experienced head who is still young enough to play in a four. Then a couple of young attacking fullbacks on each side. Get a keeper in who has been around the block and can help develop Dovin.

Millions was spent on Dovin, not even 10 games in he’s ‘too quiet’ so into the bin he goes yet even tonight you have Collins failing to communicate leading to Binks giving away a corner when it was heading out of play.

Allow Lampard to bring in whoever he wants and start by sacking Aled Williams. The man has no clue about goalkeepers, never mind defence coaching

Derby/Sheff U/Burnley
6 shots on target - 6 goals conceded.
Tbf though, the Sheffield United goals, the first Burnley chance, and the first derby one (albeit of our own making) were all great chances. The second Derby one took a big deflection, and the second Burnley one today was a fluke. We rarely create chances of the quality of those other 4 though. I

We’ve missed multiple chances as good as those already. Teams who keep giving away shit goals while struggling to even shoot tend to deservedly get in trouble.

No shit it's not sustainable. Can't I just be totally unreasonable for once in my life? Cheers to you and yours family genuinely.
Let it all out friend! We’re going through a rut as a team! It’ll get better, I hope!

Thomas and Kitching have a built in losing mentality, both signed from a relegated team . I'm sure Lawrence took one look at them and knew he had nothing to work with. Add Binks to the mix ( who I quite like by the way) and you have a trio for disaster. As for Lati ...

I think you’re spot on with the premise of ripping up the defence and starting again. Kitching is utter shite and it’s staggering how much we spent so much on him. He’s an off the shelf League 2 quality player. Just like EMC, he’s 25 and meant to be near his peak.

It’s shocking how a defence with three loanees and two free agents in Bidwell and McFadzean is so superior to this shit show with £10M+ spent on it.

Dean Austin needs to be sacked. Where’s his elite tactical ‘nouse’.

No they didn't. They were L1 play offs and Thomas was only on loan, we actually signed him from Burnley. He's still young and won everything in the air again tonight. His distribution wasn't always great, but he was very solid. Kitching barely had a look in and form dipped with sendings off last season but still think they are our best two. MVE is decent and Bidders adds steel, experience and bite to our side, so if fit that's our 4 imo. Forget 5, we're leaky anyhow so get an extra man in midfield.

our shite passing is our downfall, as last night highlighted again .
Binks loose ball , lead to their first , but Thomas’s distribution , must be the worst in the league .
Unfortunately, our chosen pairing at the back is porous every game .

We same the same shit week in week out. We are all tired of this group of centre backs.
They are fucking woeful, how can anyone rate Binks Thomas or Joel they are averaging 2 goals conceeded a game.

We keep banging on about our keepers, as if any of the Leagues keepers are top notch, it's our fucking defence that's a shambles and specifically the Kitch, Joel, Binks and Thomas.

We are going no where with them 4 as the group at centre half.
We need 2 centre backs in January, Sell Kitching on and tell Binks to hit the fuckiny gym, the lad is paper think, and as for Bobby Thomas, he needs to train with the under 18's he cannot pass a ball 6 yards and we have seen just how good he is as a centre back, 2 goals conceded week in week out with these lot.

They have got Robins the sack, it ain't anything else but the centre backs.

The midfield, forwards can have off nights and with competent defenders you come away with a 0-0 or even nick a 1-0 win.
But with these 4 centre backs our forwards need to be playing at a ridiculously high level scoring 3 or 4 week in fucking week out because Binks, Thomas, Joel and Kitching are simply shit.

I think as individuals most of the defence are good players.

Dasilva error prone and Lati not a great footballer, but the latter had an okay game last night I thought.

As a unit the defence is poor, the balance of types of player just isn’t right and we lack organisation when being countered.

Got to play Thomas and Kitching. With mve and Bidwell. It’s simply our best 4. I was utterly amazed when we pursued Binks in the summer and he and Dasilva on our left is just free goals. At the moment we don’t just concede we contrive to concede from positions that should never produce goals. It’s amateurish back there.

Averaging conceding 2 goals per match .

We won’t progress without fixing that.

What is to blame ?

Formation, players, or how they are being coached ?

For me it’s a combination of the quality of our defensive players and how they are being coached.

Positional sense of our defensive players is awful.

Either way a key factor that our new manager and coaching set up had to fix.
Coaching.
