We won with 433 too. I don't mind people raising it as a possibility it's just the panic and assumption that 352 is a change that simply must be made asap
Apart from 45 minutes against Preston we've looked pretty shit with 433 so it's not a surprise people would like to go back to what was working

It’s not panic. It’s more looking over the 11 games, we’re more open with the 4-3-3 than we were with 3-5-2.

we didn’t look like scoring last night, which happens. If you don’t - you need to try and not concede, with 4-3-3 we’ve been conceding for fun

We’ve looked shit all run. There’s an entire thread dedicated to it.

He was an utter clown

One and three minutes added time at the end of each half was laughable

Derby’s keeper wasted about two minutes on his own in the first half, not even taking into account a goal celebration

Yeah, was expecting 6/7 minutes added time at the end of the second half. Joke officials.

Nine wins in eleven still sounds great. Forget this game now and move on to a tough challenge on Saturday.

Still think it'll be us and WBA in the play offs. We're better than Bristol City and Middlesbrough.
I hope you’re right, but results like Bristol C picking up a point at Sheff Utd, Boro winning, WBA picking up points at Burnley and Leeds all have me a little nervous. Add to that our GD isn’t great either. I think WBA will claim one of the playoff spots, but the other one is still very much up for grabs. I feel the warning signs have been there for a few weeks now with FL even admitting that our performances haven’t been great lately, but we’ve somehow managed to win. Yesterday should be a sobering wake up call.

Couple of points having watched it back.

Good chance we would have lost to anyone yesterday, just one of those.

Saturday must have been completely emotionally draining, and players had to go again couple days later. Their not machines.

Wright asked to play full 90 after huge lay off through injury. Needs time to get back to speed and match fitness, obviously going to take a few weeks. I would have been shocked if he was half decent last night.

Derby good at creating chances by pumping ball into the box, and we seem to struggle against those types of balls.

Second goal looked out, but Kitching shouldn't have stopped playing and probably wouldn't have scored.

Sheaf needs to be gone in the summer.

His injury record is beyond the joke now

Either make it or we don't, not end of the world considering where we were. Most important thing is we're going to be in the mix in the run-in.

Marcus Harness is from Cov and was in the year below me in school by the way...maybe one day we'll sign him when he's passed it after scoring against us every game a la Paterson

On CWR pre game he said Eccles had been playing with / managing and injury for some time he’s a good player, offers lots, knows when to press etc.

The post game he mentions Sheaf’s injury.

Ben has had a little bit of an issue,” he said. “It isn’t the issue he had before but a different issue that ruled him out today. I won’t go into the details of it but hopefully he’ll be back very soon. We’ll see for the weekend.”
Could be a personal issue

I find it very puzzling. Players these days seem to be thrust straight back into the thick of it.

Why not use the U21 system? Work your way back to match fitness.

They are from what I’ve seen such low quality matches they are no different to normal training

Last night I was really frustrated with the game, I thought after some sleep I might feel better, but no.

In a nutshell I thought Frank Lampard got it badly wrong last night with his selection and that cost us.

Bidwell at LB was the wrong call for me, JDS played well Saturday and Bidwell has not been the same player that he was when we signed him. Cheaply giving free kicks away last night, one of which contributed to Derby's first goal. Both LBs have been couplable of giving away cheap free kicks recently, JDS did the same Saturday, but the difference with Bidwell that I just thought his general play was so bad. A new LB is needed in the summer as priority for me.

Our formation was also wrong last night, I understand why FL has recently gone back to a 4-3-3 with EMC fit, but last night was the perfect opportunity to go back to 5-3-2, with Haji coming in and Simms in desperate need of support up front. Simms looked like he was getting back to his best when he had a striker up front in the 5-3-2, he cannot play the lone striker role convincingly IMO. Haji is also not match fit, he's had 30mins max from the bench and no minutes in the U21's. On the left he just looked subpar, IMO he would've been better suited alongside Simms up front and it may have been easier for him in this position.

Starting with the 5-3-2 we would've also offered a stronger defensive unit. We haven't had a clean sheet since going back to a 4-3-3 whereas we had 4 before this.

First 20mins of the game we played some nice stuff, albeit not creating a lot. Until they scored we looked the more likely to score.

Got to dust ourselves down quickly and go again Saturday, which will be tough.

That result was coming. We couldn’t continue to play poorly and get away with it.

The results, good as they are, can’t mask that we have only played well in one or two games, and still gave goals away in those.

Now that loss is out the way, perhaps we can change it in games to come.

Well that was a reality check, good old cov just when your cruising along beating everyone, working out who we’ll get in the play offs they bring you crashing back down to earth, wasn’t the fact we finally lost , it was who to and the way we lost, genuinely looked like we thought we just had to turn up, weird how one result changes how you look at the next game, win last night and the confidence would have been huge , now it’s, what if we play like that again, pretty sure we can’t play that bad the rest of the season , nailed on win Saturday, it’s the cov way 😂

I swear our fans are the most dreary ones going, even when we're winning 9 out of 10 we're doing it wrong
You think most Championship teams are playing liquid football, even the ones at the top? I've got some news for you.

exactly, you don’t win 9 out of 10 by being shit, it’s not pretty but it’s working, we haven’t played great football for a while , even the play off season it wasn’t exciting, it’s 1 bad result , Saturdays a perfect game for us

No one can deny it’s a good run, but you can’t rest on your laurels. There have been problems while winning that we should have fixed. The problem with this league is it can turn on you as quickly as become your friend.

Some things can only be fixed with new players. Others with better match officials. We've been doing well.

Wright was awful technically, it wasn’t just about his fitness. Right from the off he wasn’t exactly putting in a lot of effort either. Very disappointing. Most of our run was achieved without him and Sheaf which speaks volumes to me.
Our star man last night and only real threat was Saka .

So you think we’ve been shit then?

I think we’ve been decidedly average, and managed to get a great run of results from it, that’s great, but if we have ambition to stay in the play offs and then get through them, we need to be better.

don’t get me wrong, I’m not unhappy about the results we’re getting, I just have more ambition I guess.

I shall not be turning on Wright after one comeback game, he's a great player at this level who just needs to get back up to speed. I will say though, to those that thought he'd walk back in over EMC, i was never sure this would be the case. EMC has been a top performer under Lampard and Wright has a fight on his hands if its that left side they are fighting over.

Derby what an utter shite club they have become. Epitome of .anti football.

Imagine watching that utter shite every week cheering when they string 3 passes together.

Poor mans Preston/High wycombe.

Horrible horrible shite team. Im not bitter.

Scored 4 goals against us this season.

One was from from our back pass.
One was 5 yards off side and then the fella scored from a cross. Lol.

Top it off they score a goal which was over the line.

You cant make this shit up. The sun shines on a dogs arse.

How does a switch to 3 x CBs prevent either goal last night? First one, Bidwell makes a dumb challenge and Haji plays their bloke onside from the free kick. Second goal is Thomas ball watching, loses Harness. I don't want us to overreact to a bad day at the office.

Last night's result in isolation isnt my main concern.
It's the fact we've conceded 2 goals in 3 successive games, that's a worry.

Just looked on their board, not too much gloating a bit of Frank baiting, but mainly how their midfield stopped ours from playing, which is right. We never looked like breaking them down and crosses into the box found Matt fucking Clarke every time, but we didn’t change our approach! We got what we deserved, nothing.
