Wright was awful technically, it wasn’t just about his fitness. Right from the off he wasn’t exactly putting in a lot of effort either. Very disappointing. Most of our run was achieved without him and Sheaf which speaks volumes to me.
Our star man last night and only real threat was Saka .

Yes, that's what happens when you haven't done something for a long time. You don't immediately pick it up at the exact same level you were at before. It's not that strange.

So you think we’ve been shit then?

I think we’ve been decidedly average, and managed to get a great run of results from it, that’s great, but if we have ambition to stay in the play offs and then get through them, we need to be better.

don’t get me wrong, I’m not unhappy about the results we’re getting, I just have more ambition I guess.
No i haven’t said that, far from it, we’ve found a way to win games by playing a type of football, not relying on individuals like in the past, we’re a team that isnt pretty to Watch, we just grind out results , unfortunately that style can lead to results like last night,

Their second goal was so far off the pitch its an absolute disgrace
As bad as we were last night, that's fucking atrocious from the linesman.

Puts things in perspective a little bit, yes we've conceded goals in the last few games, but the one vs Preston (offside), 2nd vs Stoke (offside) and the 2nd last night, none of them should've stood.

Walking back to the car afterwards and one of their fans made a loud point of us being the only team they’ll get a double over. Yes. Great.

We haven't done it for years, why aren't players who aren't making the bench playing in there? Rapha could have yesterday.

Rapha and Wilson did play yesterday. But I agree regardless of the standard it's a game of football. If the rules allow, they should play.

Agree with all that but it’s still not great

I think Sheaf needs to look in the mirror

It’s highly unlikely that a premier team will look at him unless it’s one going up and even then doubtful but possible.

He doesn’t seem interested - poor body language and lethargic and now mysterious injuries.

He has to earn respect not just expect it

Don't like to be cynical, but I do wonder if he will suddenly play really well in the last few games of the season, thus putting himself in the shop window and trying to make an impression on any scouts and managers who could be watching.

That's why I don't think it's an overreaction for people to talk about reverting to 5ATB
We love celebrating when our defenders get involved in a goal or even score themselves. The problem is when we get hit quickly on the break and our defenders are well out of position.

I think to be honest if he was as unarsed as he’s made out to be I highly doubt he’d still have the armband in the official capacity.

Listen early doors were shite for everyone, this injury problem could entirely be our fault for continuing to play him when he played on injections and not ready to come back ( think @Saddlebrains confirmed the injections).

Has it been shite yes, but I don’t doubt his commitment.

What’s the incentive for a player looking to force a move to the Premier League to continuously fake an injury?
That's the bit that doesn't add up.

The only way that would work is if the player had already agreed a deal.

To me I wouldnt mind letting Sheaf go if it meant we could bring in 2 CMs to replace him, he always spends a chunk of the season out injured and is now competing for 1 spot in the midfield as to me Grimes and Rudoni are 2 of the first on the teamsheet

Well, what a disappointment. Need to replace 3 of the back 4 in the summer (all 4 if MvE goes) and could do with a striker. Been a little unlucky that both our LW options have spent time injured at the same time.

When the opposition are setting up in a low block you have to move forward quicker in transition. All we did was almost a carbon copy of the game at the CBS - slow play, allowing them to get set, then trying to go round rather than play through. Centre mid balance was off. Grimes picking the ball up far far too deep.

All of the back 4? That’s a bit drastic.

When we got the ball out wide, we didn’t make an effort to take players on to pull Derby out of their shape. Something Rudoni does well is attracting defenders to him and this creates space.

Torp and Eccles were off their game too on the ball, far too many sloppy passes and they didn’t win the ball high enough up the pitch. The team misses Rudoni because he’s got the energy of Allen and is our most creative midfielder without sacrificing too much defensively. That’s an area we need to look at in the summer.

That said, the root of the problem was conceding the first goal. We played some positive football before they scored and it was a sloppy defending and goalkeeping there.

There were some moments in the game that just made you think it just wasn’t going to be our night. We’ve just got to move on and if we get a win against Sunderland, all will be forgotten.

what gets me going is all this high line defending, especially from free kicks,Basically, you're hoping an inept linesman will actually see any offside or foul and flag for it ( if they're allowed to nowadays).
Surely you need to be behind your player so you can see him and make him get through you to get to the ball. That would make fouls on defenders more obvious, make them work for any goal. I can't believe we let that donkey Clarke run off us and get a header on the ball.
Midfield also need to tighten up, so many times Clarke ( again) won headers against Simms and our midfield were nowhere near picking up 2 nd ball, Torp/ Eccles really don't graft in there, maybe Allen comes in against Scumderland.I want to see Simms start putting himself about more, he's a strong man so get into O'nien early and make him commit the fouls we know he does, Maybe we'll get a strong ref for this.
I know it's the ramblings of an old fart, but very frustrated at the way we wimped out last night! the run was going to end, so now we can play with freedom without the weight on '9 in 10 wins' on us.

How long will the ref not add on for this

Only gives 3 minutes should've given eight minutes, the officials are 💩💩💩

Mind you we still wouldn't have got anything out of the game, let's put it right against Sunderland. 🙏

You can’t accept he’s been injured? What should he have done instead?

The real personal hatred towards Sheaf is so odd. One poster even threatened to ‘kick fuck out of him’. Crazy stuff. Considering he’s injured so much why do these clowns have to keep talking about him.

Win Saturday and this is quickly forgotten. Need to play much, much better.
