They might do as if the end of June when contracts usually expire but not necessarily at the point the wages were paidThat seems high £1.6m for one month’s wage’s don’t they only have 5 players and some staff
No the point I’m making is they have been in admin for what 10 months and still have a higher wage bill the us and turned down offers for their players, if the admin got it under control that wouldn’t need to go cap in hand asking for loansThey might do as if the end of June when contracts usually expire but not necessarily at the point the wages were paid

£1.6m a month is probably not too far off where our existing wage bill is. It's also significantly lower than what it was, they literally could not field a team without some of their residual high earners. They've sold loads of young players on the cheap too.No the point I’m making is they have been in admin for what 10 months and still have a higher wage bill the us and turned down offers for their players, if the admin got it under control that wouldn’t need to go cap in hand asking for loans

Surely third parties can't pay the wages?

Can’t disagree with what you’re saying, but they could have done a LOT more. There were high value, high wages players who were allegedly attracting interest in the January transfer window. They chose not to sell. Probably did this coz they wanted more money / thought they could survive in the Championship.£1.6m a month is probably not too far off where our existing wage bill is. Looks like he just waited until the price was sufficiently distressedI'm sure Derby fans will be delighted...but it begs the question where was this guy 3/6/12/18 months ago, when they really needed a saviour, instead of all the charlatans they tried to do deals with?
Seems he came out of nowhere, is a local lad, and got the deal done in super quick time, with no messing about, so kudos to him, i guess.
Only worry is, will he have 'enough' money to satisfy Derby fans, who based on those i know, still think they're a top tier club in waiting....erm, guys, it's 50 years since you were good !
They've also become accustomed to top draw players on big wages, so will they be happy with some frugality and league 1 struggles (hopefully lol) ?

League One club Derby County's takeover by local business David Clowes is expected to be completed on Thursday.www.bbc.co.uk
Wasn't Chester a regular at Stoke last year?....(not sure though without looking) I'd still say that they'd command a decent wage! Something that I thought Derby should struggle to pay considering their finances.... but it seems that they will!Would them two have much interest at Championship level now? Careers seem on the way down
Looks like they're booking in to league 1 for the long run
Could be another Sunderland down there”HMS piss the league” I feel.Looks like they're booking in to league 1 for the long run

They're saved, but imho, their fans will want instant success due to the mad fallacy that they are still a 'big club'.I’m sure we all wish them well, given that football rarely offers us any certainty.
Great to see the club saved for the fans.
He's going to Werder Bremen according to SSN.Wonder if the picture surrounding Buchanan will quickly become clearer.
I've heard Karl Robinson might be in the frame for the manager's job
Also trying to sign McGoldrickFeel like players that will command big wages for a team that's just been in the shit Derby have.
Also trying to sign McGoldrick
Yeah, was supposed to Boro work with Wilder again, that’s not transpired yetThought he'd signed for a Championship club a few days ago? (clearly not, if what you've posted is correct!)
