Amazing what a few good results / performances under a new manager can do to fans views. Us lot should know that only too well ;)

True, but they were going on like he was the devil himself - now he's the angel bloody Gabriel!

Are you sure it's the same fans?

Do you mean the exact same individuals?! No, why would I be sure if that? 2 weeks ago every Sunderland fan on the telly and radio were disgusted with the appointment due to di canios apparent fascist views. Now they're all singing his name and loving his passion! It's an observation!

I'm sure those who objected to his politics still do.

I'm absolutely sure. If it's a genuine objection, his winning one game and jumping up and down on the touchline after every goal isn't going to change their opinion.

I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. What is it football fans are? Ahh, that's it... Fickle.

They are indeed; our match on Tuesday was a great advert for how fickle fans can be. But - and this is key - this isn't about football. The ones who genuinely had an issue with PDC's stated beliefs won't be impressed by any number of 3-0 wins, and those calling him a hero at this stage are not the same people who protested his appointment.

You can't say that for certain. I know a majority of those who protested at first will have the same stance, but I'm afraid a number will have changed their mind. And then if he goes through a bad spell they'll change their mind back etc etc.

Yes, the ultra-fickle ones whose opinions are not informed by anything that happened more than ten seconds ago. May I again point you towards the King Power Stadium.
