Indeed - a club legend. And talking of MOTD, did any see Frank "The Hitman" Nouble's howler in front of a gaping goal? As they say, you never lose it.Dion Dion Dion! Great player for us. Should never underestimate the contributions he gave on the pitch during his time at the club.
And ?He speaks highly of Villa too.
I still feel bitter about his departure. He was a free agent. He could have chosen any club and made a lot of money. But he decided to stay. But as soin as he signed a new contract Richardson wanted to sell him. And that started all the shit off.The word legend is used far too often these days but this man deserves the tag. Too much of a hero during his time here to feel bitter about his departure.
Indeed it did. Richardson alerted clubs that he was available. Dublin didn’t necesserily want to go.I still feel bitter about his departure. He was a free agent. If he wanted to go he wouldn't have signed a new contract with us. He would have got a massive signing fee with a new club.Indeed it did. Richardson alerted clubs that he was available. Dublin didn’t necesserily want to go.

They did-he went to Blackburn to sign who were paying the money at the time but got a call from deadly Doug at the last minute as he was about to sign for Blackburn. Signing for Villa meant he didn’t have to uproot his family in Stratford. He was a great player for us but made a bad choice joining that lot I would have thought bigger and far better teams should have wanted him
Why did he make a bad choice? His family were settled in the Midlands. He didn't want to move away. It was a big part of him wanting to stay with us. Richardson just wanted to sell to the highest bidder. He was a great player for us but made a bad choice joining that lot I would have thought bigger and far better teams should have wanted him
Dublin had just signed a new contract with us when he didn't need to. We wouldn't have got any compo at all. Richardson just wanted him to sign a new contract so he could sell him and get his hands on the money.exactly. Water under the bridge now and he was a great player for us but let's not pretend that the acrimony surrounding his departure never happened.
edit - sorry I've read your post wrong. I think Dublin was partly responsible for it going tits up at the end but whatever happened, I forgive him. He was great for us when he was here.

Should Dublin have moved his family from where they were settled just because he wanted to go to a local rival so he didn't have to uproot his family? He could have gone to a bigger club.
He made a bad choice refusing to play at Luton in the league cup
He didn’t-it was part of the deal of him moving that they didn’t want him to play.He made a bad choice refusing to play at Luton in the league cup
Lol he scored headers from outside the penalty area.Have we scored from a corner since he left?!

If it was to win things he stayed with us a long time.Depends what you are in the game for if it’s for ease of life and money then a good choice but if it’s to win things then he could have made better choices

Did he though? He made a bad choice refusing to play at Luton in the league cup
Again nothing concrete about him tapping up Boateng-I’m sure Boateng’s agent was well in the mix. Just Hearsay again.Who is they? Villa & Dublin's agent maybe, but he was still our player and badly advised not to play. It is water under the bridge now, though & I have long since forgiven him for not playing in the Luton match, or later on tapping up Boateng on Villa's behalf. He has a rightful place as one of our real legends.
