This has been an argument I have seen recently via certain posts and people.
I think we can nip this in the bud right now and they categorically don't want us to fail. They had the chance on august 2nd when liquidation was started to liquidate the company and they chose to "save" us. I know they still didn't save us per se with Northampton move etc but Coventry City theoretically would not exist today if this was the case and I speak for myself and hopefully for others when I don't want to start again and I don't want another team etc I want Coventry City even if it is Northampton for now.
The move to Northampton is beyond words and I cant feel more sick about it but that doesn't stop me cheering like a little girl who has just received her first Barbie doll when we score in the 87th minute to win 5-4 and get that buzz you cant describe. This hasn't been dented. Sisu are an investment company and they want some money back of one form or another and that's why I believe they will sell within the next 5 years before the Northampton arrangement ends as we all know a new stadium is just pie in the sky. The 5 year move enables them enough time to stabilize the club and sell on with no intention of coming back to Coventry unless Ricoh is sold to them.
I hate SISU as much as the next fan but they did save the club as ridiculous as that sounds and without being optimistic I still don't believe murphy, Clarke or baker have gone yet when we all know they are all better than Coventry city. (I hope they don't either) So they haven't cashed in on them when they could and they owe SP a decent team for what he has had to put up with and with another 2 players leaving that allows us another good signing or 2 mediocre ones if I have read this transfer rule correct. I personally would go the two wages together and go get a very good player for us and charge up the table than 2 mediocre squad players as that's surely what we have got rid of and I think SP thinks the same as me.
To conclude hate SISU sure and please before the SISU haters get on to me I hate them more than you but I am a realist and they saved the club from ceasing and no true fan wants that regardless how bad it is. Our best players have been kept thus far and new signings in the next week I would imagine before deadline day. Lets face it the better shape the club is in and the more success it has on the pitch then it is worth more and more readily to sell and that's what they want not liquidate it to nothing, sell best players and relegated and lose their millions from investors etc.(That's why fish face was so annoyed at the 10 point deduction and why I also think a New CVA will be drawn up and accepted by ACL with 10 points reinstated) He doesn't want relegation or liquidation as don't SISU as makes no logical sense from any angle.
What's easier to sell and worth more, a league 2 club or a championship club?
