To be honest though, with a bespoke build that will likely require significant infrastructure changes, and also sensitivity with the earlsdon nimby's, you really need some political backing and council planning support (look at how much advice they gave wasps) to pull off a development like this. Regardless of whether the council have to follow procedure, they can make it very difficult, so I can understand why fisher thinks its a no go at the minute.

That said I don't believe they would build it anyway.

Trouble is it suits TF and our owners to say that there's a political embargo at the moment. If they really want to they can test the waters at any time by taking steps forward. Doesn't necessarily have to be a planning application, they could start some real consultation on it and involve the council and local residents as they have in Ryton. The difference is of course that they intend to have Ryton developed, hence they're falling over themselves to get things moving. When it comes to the BPA they're hiding behind excuses. Why is that? My guess is that they can't afford for it to get a good reception on many levels from having no intention and never have to developing the BPA as it's a hoax to if it does look likely they can't afford it anyway as they haven't got the backing.

One things for sure. When they do actually want to do something i.e. like develop Ryton, they can get a shift on. When suits.

100% agree they have no intention of moving us to BPA, but I'm not sure they intend to develop Ryton.
I think they want to get planning permission to up it's value and then get rid of it.
