The state of this 'apology' from Johnson.
'I'll continue to be racist I just won't do it so publicly while I'm PM'
Genuinely don’t see the problem with Johnson’s comments. The guy is clearly a racist as most from his background are, but his article was a defence of burka wearing in the spirit of classic liberalism.
Goldsmiths campaign was disgusting though, and some of the attitudes of newer MPs are very concerning.

Your profile picture is horrifying. Everytime I look at it it sends a shiver down my spine hahaNo, it wasn't racist. It was culturist. Nothing in what he wrote in any inferred that Muslims were an inferior race. Inferior culture maybe, but not race.
Think you might feel differently if you were affected by his commentsGenuinely don’t see the problem with Johnson’s comments. The guy is clearly a racist as most from his background are, but his article was a defence of burka wearing in the spirit of classic liberalism.

Nothing wrong with comparisons to burglars and letterboxes? Wow

Yea, I thought Islam was a religion, not a race. No, it wasn't racist. It was culturist. Nothing in what he wrote in any inferred that Muslims were an inferior race, if indeed you believe that race is other than a social construct. Islam as a inferior culture maybe, but not 'race'.
Yea, I thought Islam was a religion, not a race.
But I guess that doesnt fit some peoples narrative.
The much overblown piccanniny watermelon smile thing was not racist either
Are you serious? The much overblown piccanniny watermelon smile thing was not racist either

Not really in context. No different to saying nuns look like penguins or whatever. His entire point is that may be what he thinks but it’s their right to wear what they want.
But I don’t get precious about word play and analogies so YMMV.
Ah, you went too far. That was definitely racist, the word alone is racist.
So is big white chief and big white jet
Are you serious?
If people call Muslims ‘letterboxes’ in school we suspend them
Yes and the term he used was still racist. You are becoming a parody of yourself. He was accusing Anthony Charles Lynton Blair of being the white imperialist looking down on his black flock as he gurned around the Congo looking for cheap deals. It was a swipe at colonialism
Im not sure I’d want to live in a country that ran according to a secondary school behaviour policy TBH.

Boris Johnson and the 'piccaninny' smear | The Spectator
Boris Johnson likes to call black people 'piccaninnies’. Everyone’s saying it. Even Stormzy said it this week in his endorsement of Jeremy Corbyn. It is ‘criminally dangerous’ to give the keys of Downing Street back to a man who refers to ‘black people as “piccaninnies” with “watermelon...www.google.co.uk
Two can play the full name game
Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson

The funniest today was that fool Femi spouting utter drivel about the rather unpleasant black version of Tommy Robinson who was shot in the head and saying she was a key member of BLM and had death threats and couldn’t really believe the police implying she wasn’t targeted as a shot in the head.
To give her some kind of curious legitimacy he also skilled in she was “Oxford educated”
Yes but is the term racist or not
Is the term "Pickaninny Watermelon Smiles" racist?well you think letter box is - it isn’t and it’s to create debate
