Government. That’s who normally builds and operates things there’s no economic case for. I’m just not sure why you’d refuse to build anything in case somewhere a house is built without what you’d consider the right amenities.

Talk about a shambles. The government cuts WFA with the excuse that the worst affected will be able to claim pension credit.
Then they can't manage the surge of claimants for pension credit. So guess what, the poorest pensioners who relied on WFA will now go cold over Christmas.
And we have people who's only real justification for voting for Starmer was that he was at least competent.
Nope, turns out he's both a liar and incompetent.

Oh no they've recruited 500 extra staff.sounds like this initiative has had a spillover to actual claim's that have been made in really good time, like back to spring, although who gets the blame for that as it was a different administration?

Interesting to watch the Question Time from Lincoln a few weeks ago where Farage was in full character lighting the touch paper on blaming immigrants for everything that’s wrong with the country.

Dig a little deeper and he makes contradictory points. Blames Labour for giving pay rises to the public sector but also wants immigration to come down when we rely heavily on foreign labour to work in the NHS and social care.
There is a left wing argument to getting immigration down as a way of strengthening our economic and workforce security, but I haven’t heard Labour making it.

There is an irony that the 16 - 18 voting idea will probably benefit Reform as they seem to have some sway with younger voters but it would be monumental for a party to achieve the number of seats needed from virtually ground zero

The argument for lowering immigration isn’t right or left wing it’s about democracy. The country has very clearly had a majority for lower immigration for almost 20 years. Any government that doesn’t deliver it isn’t representing its constituents.

FPTP doesn’t favour over the air, low ground support, geographically diffused parties. Like when the Lib Dem’s “surged” in 2010.
Also Trump won’t be in power in 2029 and we have no idea if Musk will still have his latest fascination. These aren’t reliable political allies we’re talking about.
But if they don’t handle immigration like everyone else they’ll get kicked out and a reform Tory coalition is likely at best.

Yeah. The party is both anti-immigration and pro- big business/rich. But those to are incompatable. For business to make huge profits low-wage immigration is absolutely vital.
IF he got into power he would definitely put big business ahead of immigration. Trouble is he'd still find ways to blame others for the immigration situation not being sorted out and there'd be plenty in his personality cult willing to swallow it for quite a long time.

I think it's far more likely Farage will defect to the Tories in a year or so and then become leader before the next GE, which the Tories would win comfortably and make the last lot of Tory nutcases look almost sane.
