Just as well Grayling wasn't put in charge, if he didn't see what was going on behind his back on this occasion he really wasn't the right man for the job. Not that he's the right man for any job.

I've said before it would be good if parliament was more like the 'courts' of medieval times and travelled around. Take the MP's out of that London bubble and see what happens elsewhere. Best way to regenerate a region is to make the people in charge of the purse strings move there - soon happy to splash the cash.
Never thought it would happen due to the logistics and cost of it and even though the reasons aren't exactly altruistic it's at least a step towards it.
So I think this is a good suggestion by Johnson (see I can praise him if I think he's worthy of it)

I fucking hate the tories and the right, I've given Starmer a chance but I fucking hate him and his bunch of tory enabling centrist wankers and am at breaking point with the left for a whole multitude of reasons. Am I on the verge of uttering a phrases I've always despised - they're all as bad as each other?!

I just see many of them jumping in to bed with the, I won't say far right, but the right on several issues.
It started with Brexit, and OK, that was a unique issues with people from all parts of the spectrum on both sides but since then i'm seeing more and more of it.
In addition to that total denial of any wrong doing by Russia and China in recent global events seems to be the latest hobby horse even in the face of fairly strong evidence. Though there's so much contradictory information out there now may be they're right.

I think there’s a rational left movement due. There’s a lot of us that are sick of the weaksauce offered up by the centre and the bullshit that comes with the old left. I always felt Corbyn and co jumped on a bandwagon that wasn’t really designed for them. And probably delayed a proper 21st century socialist platform being built.

As much as I liked Corbyn (and still do) I was happy for him to take the shit and pave the way for someone else that could take the baton on from him without the baggage.

I don’t think that’s what happened though. I voted Corbyn because he was the closest available (and my god the rest were terrible), but was blind to his obvious issues that played into tropes about the old left (obsessed with Israel, nationalise everything, grumpy, humourless, unpatriotic, etc etc).
I worry that rather than pave the way he’s erected a rather large brick wall in the electorates mind that makes many left wing ideas too reminiscent of his time and brings back all those bad feelings for voters.

Im pretty certain they will get a bail out. He’s a bit optimistic on the vehicles that make profit as well. I think the jaguar brand away from Chinese production will end up as the SUV and sports car only.

No owe unit losses are shocking as are Xj - the electrification of XJ is mental as it’s going to sell hardly any and average discounts in that sector are plus 25% - the cherry plant constructs a separate version I think but these cars are long gone and can’t compete in the contract hire market. Funnily enough I’m looking at contract hire for me and it’s a no brainer to go German it volvo which is just madly cheap

Aye, things have moved on so much in the car world. Features which were previously not exclusive to but associated with cars like Jaguar are now available across the board, hard to see why you'd buy one as you're paying a premium price for what is no longer a premium product.

Jag lost its magic a while ago for me. Growing up I always wanted a Jaguar, partly for the Cov connection but mostly because they were beautiful cars. Round about when Ford bought them and they seemed to try and be more Aldi than Porsche I think was when they lost it.
Honestly think they could be the U.K. Tesla if they tried. Fast, pretty, well designed electric luxury cars. By all accounts the I-Pace beats out the Model X already. They could become a real symbol like Tesla has for the US. They don’t seem to know what they want to be at the moment.

I was amazed they didn’t use their markers at all. Fair enough it’s a complete retrain but the infrastructure is there to not only standardise but allocate work out and take the load off as well. I stopped paying attention once I knew I wouldn’t get paid, what did they end up doing?

The thing is a lot of the markers are often practising teachers that will have gone through the CAG process in school just weeks before. A prefect time to utilise that expertise to ratify the submitted data.

Tesla is a niche brand which employs few people and is small fry
JLR are stuck in the middle rather like Saab
Jaguar invested heavily with Ford in quality which for a while did work but it all about lease values and the fleet market in this game and the range isn’t enough to extend to the lower end
Mine was privately purchased which I’ll hand back when I can In a few months as it’s lost thousands on its GMFV as they have to subsidise the front end to compete - E pace is a good car but it’s monthly payment is well out of it’s worth

Oh I know nothing about cars, especially the economics of them. Just saying as a car buyer, that’s the bracket they fit in in my mind. But as you say maybe that doesn’t recognise their size today.
