Boris Johnson under pressure to 'urgently explain' why he privately met Sue Gray to discuss handling of partygate report
Sue Gray and Boris Johnson had a private meeting to discuss the handling of the partygate report, Sky News can reveal. Further details of the meeting are sketchy, with confusion over whether the inclusion of pictures in the report was discussed and who initiated the meeting.news.sky.com

The cynical side of me says it's because they already know that she will conclude they did little wrong & it will be a complete whitewash.
Don't forget, this is the same Sue Gray who effectively answers to the PM & is of course notorious for guiding MPs how to subvert FOI requests, "double delete" e-mails & cover their tracks.
There's been zero evidence put forward to ahow that productivity is an issue, just like there's zero evidence to justify a target of 91,000 job cuts being made. The insinuation is very much "if we get rid of thousands of these lazy, expensive civil servants we can afford to support 'taxpayers' through the cost of living crisis"Political posturing on both sides Pete. I understand the governments position if there is an issue with productivity/safeguarding data etc, but if so prove it. The response, on the surface at least, appears childish
They don’t give a toss. And the answer is Boris asked one of his staff to make the meeting

I’d happily strike to get rid of these feckless wankers. On the side of ordinary working people. There hasn’t been a national teachers strike in a decade but of course we are ‘bringing the country to a standstill’.

If I were the civil service union I'd be trying to organise ensuring everyone followed the desire of the ministers and have everyone turn up to the office. Really look silly when wokers coming into the office are less productive than being at home cos they've got nowhere to work and being sent home.Exactly what’s happening. Government estate rules 6 desks per 10 people! Our new building has 1200 or so for 2000 staff and our bosses are being stupid about making people comeback in without listening to sensible solutions
Have said it numerous times when senior managers are being infantile with people who have real issues with health or care.If I were the civil service union I'd be trying to organise ensuring everyone followed the desire of the ministers and have everyone turn up to the office. Its interesting that the people most against staff wfh as they think it means people aren't working are senior managers & directors who had the option to wfh pre-covid.Have said it numerous times when senior managers are being infantile with people who have real issues with health or care.

Given that pretty much all the available data shows, at worst, the same level of productivity you can only assume its a reflection of their own behaviour when they were wfh.
I don’t think people who work from home are especially concerned about productivity but prefer the lifestyle

The plot thickens. Other people at this party received fines yet Boris, who was evidently there, didn’t. The Met are going to have some explaining to doNo rules were broken, I've been assured all guidance was adhered to...

It will be some ridiculous loophole about it being his home, they sowed the seed for that last week.

What I can't understand is how you can bring the country to a standstill by going on strike, if apparently you're doing sod all when you're at work!
Just the usual nasty party bollocks. One rule for them, another for us.
