No it doesn't
Don’t let me get things wrong again. In my tribunal training with the union it is no longer an automatic suspension for many things. Being arrested for sexual assault is a bit different of course. The reason this was changed is because it does suggest guilt and is a punishment when before investigation there may be no guilt. That was the full answer to above. I’ve had people keep working until they’ve been sacked in allegations of gross misconduct at work

I see Keir Starmer has taken a back seat while beergate is being investigated with the result that Milliband is being promoted to having a Labour say

This whole Starmer isn't very good in the HoC, when did this nonsense start? It has no basis in fact

It's because he doesn't wave his arms around and gesticulate wildly etc. People think he's boring.

He's not boring he just doesn't try and put on a show. He's just normal. And right now normal sounds pretty good to me.

He's just totally uninspiring.

He regularly owns Johnson at the despatch box which is the very thing Ed Miliband is being praised for.

It's weird as fuck

William Hague regularly owned Blair and actually did - Starmer is about as inspiring as IDS

A competent if dull administrator is surely an upgrade on the current leader, though?

I'm not saying he wouldn't be. I just find him to be one ofthe dullest politicians out there.
I really don't like Rachael Reeves but find she grabs your attention far more when speaking.

As I say, just my personal opinion.

As you say it's totally subjective, but I don't think he's dull - I think he's just serious and on top of his brief (as you'd expect with his background).

Yeah he could probably do with a bit more tone and inflection to his voice, but as NW says I'd rather someone speak seriously than wail about like the clown show opposite him (and I'm not saying that you're suggesting Johnson is a better speaker).

The amount of people naming Francois on Twitter and yet now lots are saying it's Rosindell. I doubt they'll apologise if wrong either way, but labelling someone a rapist on baseless opinion is pretty low whatever side of the divide you're on. In these cases they should either name or say nothing. Saying a man in his 50s from the police is what motivates the poundshop detectives.

That's a reasonable enough point, there's enough evidenced crime and corruption in the Tory party to go round without adding the unproven stuff to the list. Has it perhaps reached the stage where the party of law and order could just give us a list of those who believe it still applies to them? Shouldn't take long. :)

All that to one side, I'd genuinely accept it is a fair point.

Remember though, baseless mud slinging about a MPs integrity isn't just limited to twitter. The Home Secretary, no less, accused the whole of the Labour party of defending "murderers, paedophiles, rapists, and thugs". I'm sure you're similarly concerned about that kind of slur too?

Apparently Downing St is responsible for almost 1% of FPN issued in London. That’s staggering. There’s over 6000 streets in London with an average of 412 people living in each one.

I think it probably represents 100% of the retrospective fines though…possibly for the whole country. I’m not condoning what happened, it was wrong, however, the police would’ve turned a blind eye to most potential breaches during the pandemic yet couldn't here. If they investigated all of them like these Id imagine millions of people would’ve been fined and the police wouldn’t have been doing anything else for years

We now have the ridiculous situation where Simon Case (Cabinet Secretary) hasn’t been fined even though he expected to be, Johnson and his missus not fined for the Abba party and yet Rishi Sunak fined for walking into a meeting early and singing happy birthday ?! As I’ve alluded to before as soon as it comes down to loose interpretation it’s going to get messy.

I also read yesterday that six police are investigating Starmers event over a six week period. I appreciate it’s not a popular opinion but what an absolute waste of police time. All this for £3k of fines so far from hundreds of thousands (probably millions) of police time spent on the matter

On to the Sue Gray report which in my eyes might be far more important in the grand scheme of things
