We can all agree that the gatherings the drinks and the takeaways were reprehensible, but we have given these muppets a mandate to run the country, and believe it or not, we have more fucking issues that need addressing.

If both party leaders resign, it won't change what happened, it will just change the names of those who you are screaming at to resign.

The photographs clearly show that the Prime Minister was present.

There is no condition that I'm aware of in the law that sets a minimum time of attendance at a forbidden event, below which one can claim to have followed the rules.

Here are the rules that were in force at the time, as set and outlined quite clearly by the Prime Minister literally eight days prior to the event.

I'd welcome an honest explanation of how one person at the event is fined, and another who is clearly present, is not. It certainly doesn't look like the Met are going to be able to provide one!

Regardless, he has already accepted that he has broken the law at another point in time, is it a three strikes and you're out rule for Government ministers now?

Im not excusing it at all, you and others might read it that way because I don’t get excited and start calling the Met bent (they might be for different reasons) and for them to somehow reopen investigations and waste even more police time because i want more FPNs issued

Im just trying to explain the polices position in all this and the challenges they face looking at stuff retrospectively. I also threw out a couple of examples of how one person could get fined and others not. I don’t know though, it was a guess as I said. They fucked up by not dealing with it at the time (as they are based at Downing St). They have not, to my knowledge, issued any fines elsewhere retrospectively. I just think the level of time and effort the Met and Durham are spending is a waste.

Just to be clear again, that’s not condoning behaviours. The Sue Gray report should’ve done the job and will probably be a more accurate reflection of the events (in a negative way for government) rather than the FPNs

As I have said before. I last saw my mum in March. March 19th. I was not allowed to see her after that and she died on the 28th June.

And we had to turn people away from the funeral. She was very well loved and liked. She was a wonderful woman, but we could only have 30 at the funeral and everyone else was turned away.

The church wouldn't let us sneak in just one more. So not 31, 30 only and that was it. They wouldn't let us go over by even 1.

One very old lady turned up, who was a very good friend of my mum and she was the 31st person and we hd to turn her away.

It appears opinion is skewed based on whether people want him or not. the police have investigated and I don't believe for one minute they're as corrupt these days with so many standards to uphold and whistleblowers waiting for their moment to shine. If they deem that there isn't a case to answer, then I don't see why this instance should be big news, particularly after the same crowd suggesting Starmer and Rayner weren't at a party, despite booze, food and at 10pm no work done afterwards. Fwiw I don't have an issue with him doing that either, only raising for balance.

It's also incredibly disingenuous to wait for the report and then drip-feed another photo now. Have they suddenly come across this two years after an event when the whole partygate issue has already been rumbling on for close to a year? If there is more evidence get it out there. If there isn't then allow people to move on and govern. Whether you want them or not, I'm sure we can all agree that the time is better spent trying to implement policy and legislation over answering to yet another party accusation.

I'll now retreat for a period whilst the usual pile on ensues to pull this apart, extracts the part they disagree with and quotes it back to tell me it's all Boris' fault and gets 10 likes from all concerned.

There is still a degree of corruption in the police I would have thought, but Boris himself, is very corrupt. He thinks the rules don't apply to him and I am not talking about Partygate as such, just in life in general. He was apparently the same at school.

The police wouldn’t have even re-opened these cases now if it wasn’t politicians. If it was a place of work in a private company who ordered pizza and drinks in an office they wouldn’t be spending hundreds of thousands re-opening a case

Other than we were in complete lockdown when Boris partied multiple times we wasn’t when Starmer “partied” on a single occasion. If you want to ignore the legal differences then yeah, it’s exactly the same.
