Not the case in the UK. In the UK if you’re a foreign national you’re allowed to vote in local elections but not general elections. I actually know someone who is a foreign national, born to foreign nationals in their home country, her family moved here when she was a baby, she was educated in this country including higher education, English is her mother tongue, she’s only ever worked in the UK, only ever paid taxes in the UK, has children born in this country, is married to a British citizen but can’t vote in a GE. Her sister born six months after they arrived can though. It’s mental. 20 years of paying tax in this country and doesn’t get a vote, non doms on the other hand do. That’s fucked up.That was only the case if they'd been abroad for 15+ years.
Personally, I think if you pay taxes and live in a country you should be able to vote.
It's the same in Italy and I run a small business, so pay a fair whack in pension payments, tax etc but get no say in the GEs - it's so out of date. Not the case in the UK. I'm in a shared workspace and only know what the first one means, so don't want to search for it - can I choose both?
Is the sequel going to be "Into the Shit?"
You bastard Otis. You've just ruined one of my favourite Neil Young songs. Is the sequel going to be "Into the Shit?"
Are you Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson?Spectacular collapse, by the way. Had a snooze about 11.00am, woke up at 4.00pm, all over.
Are you Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson?
Sunderland are on course to have more prime ministers in 2022/2023 than they had wins in 2005/2006.
And he’s in the enviable position of not being in a position to care about it all.My son isn't even 5 months old yet but in that time...
4 Chancellor's
3 Home Secretaries
3 Prime Ministers
2 Monarchs
This country is an utter fucking shambles.

It patently isn’t true that they’re all as bad as each other. That’s not even true within the Tory party. You’re clearly not that interested.Politics is of an interest to me. I just think they are all as bad as one another. Wouldn't vote for any of them.

When my oldest was a baby the banking crisis hit triggering a world recession. I was foolish enough to say thank god it’s happening now, by the time she leaves school we’ll be out the other side and the economy will be booming. She’s just started her GCSE’s and the world and especially our country is probably in the worst state I’ve ever known it. It isn’t going to be sorted by the time she finishes 6th form either. My son isn't even 5 months old yet but in that time...

Starting to sound like the Tories are about to finish the job of tearing themselves apart and it’s all over Boris. The Boris cult are mobilising themselves very quickly, he’s got 25 backers already. Already MP are threatening to resign the whip if Boris comes back and sit on the opposition bench as an independent. The more extreme are saying that they’ll resign as an MP altogether triggering a by-election. Oddly Boris coming back might be the quickest route to a GE.

How can they even consider bringing Johnson back??
Most commentators now suggesting he’ll do well to get 60. This will be the measure of the “man”. Not his popularity but his narcissism. If he declares himself as a candidate knowing he’s not going to get the required 100 it’s going to drive the wedge deep. He’ll be completely putting himself ahead of party. If he wants to put his party first he’ll declare he’s not running and the sooner the better for the Tories. If he tries to push it I think all he’ll achieve is gifting The Reform Party their first MP’s.I think Johnson will race ahead to a big early lead and get 50 odd backers, but there will be a limit to that. As mental as they are there is a limited number of headbangers in the party.
Because they’re right wing brexit fundamentalists. Boris is king in their eyes. How can they even consider bringing Johnson back??
Will fit right in with all the financial skulduggery.Sam Allardyce has just joined the Conservative party
