Do you want to discuss boring politics? (14 Viewers)

Not going to deny that, but in reality I couldn't care less other than the hypocrisy I imagine most of us broke the rules, just a matter of scale.
People got fined, lost jobs - are you gonna make sure they get compensated accordingly?

And people did follow the rules, because apparently the rules were for the benefit of other people, so it's only right to do so.

And if we need to do similar in the future, the actions of Johnson and his government will result in an utter shit show, which could see us become an utter disaster.

Didn’t Rita Ora get fined for a family party while the tories had their own parties?
It would be funny if she sued the government or came out and said can I have refund!😂

It's not a question of compensating people who broke the law. It's about making sure those who were much more egregious offendrrs face justice.

There was somebody interviewed for a BBC article who said that all MPs lie... apart from Boris, who's been stitched up and has been an excellent Prime Minister. Now, two angles for that.

We're fucked as a country if more than a relative handful of nutters across the country think that.
If it is just a minority view, haven't we taken journalistic balance to ridiculous levels?

Up next, Paul Chuckle on the ozone layer.

This is beyond parody, they've made this country a laughing stock.
Off the cabinet only Penny Mordaunt has dared showed her face and shown leadership confirming she’ll vote for the committee findings. Meanwhile Sunak’s gone into hiding. Berry and Rees-Mogg debasing themselves even by their standards. No wonder the Tories have dropped in the polls again. They can’t even claim it’s because of the way Boris is being “treated” because it’s Labour who are picking up the points not the other right wing parties (insert your own jokes about Starmer being centre right here).

If I was, I'd be triggered by some people I don't know enjoying themselves a few years back, oh no that's you.

Nope, but nice try. People are "triggered" because they can see the obvious injustice, hypocrisy, and dishonesty.

There are people (lots of them) who couldn't see their loved ones, alive, or when they were dying, or even go to their funerals.

But those rules didn't apply to the "Jingle and Mingle" team, because they were 'working' at number 10, making the rules, but not following them.

You're defending the indefensible. But then that's all that any Tory can do these days because any semblance of integrity, honesty, or competence has long since disappeared from the party.

You've chosen to be led by the corrupt, the mendacious, the cowardly, and the stupid. Too late to cry about it now it's becoming obvious to everyone.

Thankfully mates is one thing we'll never be. As for crying, really? Honestly couldn't give a flying but then I don't pretend to be ethical or moral to random people on a forum. I'd not care if it was Labour partying, in fact I hope they did. It was a shitty time for all concerned so if people managed to find some enjoyment good luck to them.

“I don’t give a fuck” shouts man in lengthy rant insulting everyone who doesn’t agree with him in three post spree.

That was the Christmas my dad went into hospital. He was in there for nearly 3 months during which time we weren’t allowed to visit him despite not knowing if he would ever come out

His dementia got considerably worse while he was in there to the point you couldn’t even speak to him on the phone after the first couple of weeks

By the time he got transferred to care and we could finally see him it was like a different person but as long as they had fun at their rule breaking party who cares

Really? I've been quoted and thrown the insults and suggest being upset which is odd, I've kept my counsel and insulted nobody in those posts unless you count saying we're not mates to DoD is an insult. Still you got a couple of likes so well played.

“don't pretend to be ethical or moral to random people on a forum.”

That’s an insult to literally everyone who disagrees with you. You think everyone who disagrees with you is dishonest rather than just having a different moral compass than yourself.

The whole Boris thing has clearly rattled you. You sound like the Corbynistas after he lost.

Never fall in love with loan players or politicians.

Although as usual you've misquoted me and missed the crucial word 'I'. I don't pretend....

The pile ons here are embarrassing at times. The names I get called on here and you're as guilty as any yet I never start the name-calling I simply admit to being a tory. If all you want is like opinions then it's an echo chamber you want not a forum.

There's an old rule that serves well. If one person thinks you are displaying cuntish behaviour, you're probably ok. Once a few suggest it then maybe a period of self reflection is worthwhile.

In fact it's still not ok. Debate me, tell me I'm wrong. Tell me why I'm wrong. I probably still won't agree and you're likely wasting your time, but does that mean there's a need to throw the names about? The quickest to be offended often and yet if it agrees with the masses you'll get some likes and all is ok. There's also a reason more than one will be over that thought because its fairly clear this board is massively one sided in terms of political standing. Those who aren't are about as welcome as Leicester or Villa fans posting on here about City.

Copy and paste error that. But if anything adding I makes the point even more “*I* don’t pretend” implies others do.

I’ll take the piss out of you for Boris just as I do Ian or BSB for Corbyn, it’s nothing to do with your politics. Boris was pretty left wing, as Tory PMs go you could do a lot worse. He was just an incompetent buffoon. I could vote for a socially conservative economically left government if I thought it was actually going to do what it said. But Boris would never get past the fiscaal hawks in the party. Also when his ideology comes up against his mates and donors the ideology loses every time.

I don't pretend implies nothing other than I don't pretend unless you choose to read it that way. If you do I can't help that, but it's clear surely from my responses that I don't pretend. If I did I'd not be ridiculed for my opinions quite so much and sit nodding in the background saying I agree. If I don't agree I say so and I'm aware it's not always the popular response, even if it does prompt others to call me thick or stupid which I'm clearly not, just hold a different opinion. What a dreadfully boring place if would be if we were all like minded.

Why say it then? What are you trying to say? Why is it even a topic of discussion unless you think others are pretending?

You seem to think everyone wants you to agree, which couldn’t be further from the truth. We just reserve the right to take the piss when it seems you’re a little overly attached to a politician.
