12-17th wouldn't be getting a kick in week in, week out though.
It would be comfortably safe from relegation which would be a fantastic achievement
A fantastic achievement with a 7 million budget I agree. But it is a fantastic achievement that wont draw crowds. Only a genuine chance of the play offs will do that.
Yet both Norwich and Nottingham forest attracted 20,000 plus crowds in their relegation seasons.
Would it though? Or would the fair weather fans desert the club in the tough times like they have done this season where we also have a genuine chance of play offs.A fantastic achievement with a 7 million budget I agree. There would be another excuse, price, weather, so on and so onYes if they are happy with the product in the pitch they will be there.
So that would require us to keep winning every single week then, if we go through a rough spell attendances will drop regardless of if we have a genuine chance of play offs.Yes if they are happy with the product in the pitch they will be there.
Know anyone who has decided to stop going to CCFC matches because they want to go to Wasps matches instead?
Anyone I know who have attended Wasps matches are either not from Coventry or have taken the family die to some deal. However they still go to Cov matches, or have no interest in football.
I just don't see from my own experience Wasps stealing our fan base?
About the 5-10-15 years thing. Wasps are very proactive with chasing support of the young. Since they arrived at the Ricoh they have been to my daughters school twice. CCFC haven't been once in the whole five years since my eldest started school. If we're in competition with them for young supporters in the Coventry and Warwickshire area we'd better start being more proactive.

Yes around 5 regulars and the same amount in floating fans. It sucks.
5 regular fans you know, now have stopped going to City because of the opportunity to attend Wasps instead?
Yes thats what I said. I am not just saying it. I find it disgusting.
I dont mean this sarcastically, but you do know just because you havent experienced it, it doesnt mean it hasnt happened. Like the Telgraph some fans just like to jump on the bandwagon.
When you say they have come into the school, do you literally mean someone from Wasps popped in or just a ticket offer?
I know you are in Rugby, as am I, and my daughters school have had one of the offer letters, buy one get the next match free, but no one into the school thank goodness, whilst CCFC have also done the same with a ticket offer. Thankfully most of the kids that did take up an offer, preferred the football.

Wow any fan I know have gone as a one off to take the family due to some offer. Others are rugby fans (not wasps) but now go to Wasps.
Quite a few others I know from work
Travel from Sutton Coldfield, Northampton, Hinkley, Birmingham. I am lucky I am yet to meet a fellow Cov fan who has switched.
Luckily from the gist of this thread it seems your experience is a very rare one.m, thank god and the gist seems to be Cov fans don't switch to Wasps.
Very rare? 5-6 of us that have said ok this we know or have met people that now go to wasps instead of ccfc. That's out of about 10-12 different posters that have posted on this thread. So that's about 40-50% of those who responded to your question.
Just because others haven't posting on the thread doesn't mean they they agree with you or not.

Funny but we are where we are some will blame anyone or anything for our demise.
We have been fucked up as a club well before many had even heard of the Wasps.
Now according to some they have taken our supporters

Wait a minute you are just twisting what has been said.
Dongo asked if anyone knew fans who now go to Wasps instead of CCFC. I have answered that I do. He asked that basic question and I answered it.
He didnt ask if there were other factors, like the way the club had been run, our owners etc, which has also clearly had an affect, but that wasnt covered as it wasnt what was asked.
I balme a lot of people, but that wasnt the question was it.

What I am looking at Moff is, is Wasps a competitor for our fans. Are people ditching their Cov tickets because they can go to Wasps instead.
I don't count people who already stopped going to Cov and have now started going to Wasps.
Otherwise everything else people did would be considered a threat. A lot of people started going to the Butts, shopping with their misses. Doing their garden ect.
I find it very rare that someone thinks great I will stop going to watch city now because I can watch wasps instead.
A lot of people got into other habits during the bloody Northampton debarcle nothing to do with Wasps.

I think they are now a competitor for our fans, and as you rightly said our owners and previous regimes, and the sad state of our club, has a role to play in that.
You cant just ring fence it though to current fans though, it is not just black and white. There are also always the floating or occasional fan, and there is the potential to lose these who may want to try a different sport at the Ricoh, or be a glory supporter of a 'winning' Rugby team and they spend their money there rather than at CCFC.
We all know that the main reason we have lost fans in the poor state of the club due to present and past owners, especially the current, and the fact we are starved of success. To discount Wasps as having no potential effect of taking fans away though is naive in the extreme.
You're wasting your time Moff. Don's too stubborn to admit that he is wrong on this and will keep moving the goalposts until he finds the answer he wants.

Of course people who had already stopped going to ccfc but now go to wasps should be included. They are/were ccfc fans and therefore potential customers, and they are choosing to spend their money going to wasps games instead of coming back to ccfc shows that they are in direct competition for fans. That's completely different to someone choosing to go shopping.
Just keep.....

Sorry Stu you can't have the bloke who left Cov over the Nothampton move (pre wasps) and has no intention of coming back. Who now goes to Wasps instead of shopping. Who never had any intention of coming back to Cov unless we get new owners.
Luckily as this thread shows that isnt happening much at all.
There would be another excuse, price, weather, so on and so on
Isnt that like asking a question, and then discounting an answer as it doesnt fit your rules or agenda? People may have a different set of rules, it doesnt mean either is right or wrong.
