Are you happy with this sale?

Do you think it's a good deal (if the reported numbers are true)?

The reported number is £1.5m which means this year we will receive 50% of that. We won’t be signing any replacement other than another loan at best. In fact it barely covers the cash flow losses for the first 3 games

The club now need more sales to go through before Wednesday

I think you need to ask other people if they are happy with it. Doesn’t sound to me like they are.

Pathetic. As expected.

So do you think we have done brilliantly to get this amount for Hyam or not, regardless of whether we need to sell others?

SBB said Hyam wages may be used for a loan replacement. Not ideal obviously but hopefully can add one to the squad.

I'm guessing when we play the 3 rearranged matches, all that cash flow will enable ud to get a new loan player in for 6 months.

Getting a seven figure sum for a player who you said would attract no interest and wouldn’t even command a fee is surely great business from the club? What company wouldn’t sell off such a worthless asset given the chance?

It's a very simple question.

You think he's dog shit so I'm just asking whether you think this is a good price for him.

As the club have just lost a squad player and won be replacing him (and it’s not £1.5m now) and still haven’t solved the pressing financial issues that are ever looming the price is irrelevant

If we spent it on someone else all well and good.

We aren’t - it may as well have been the £3m we allegedly turned down - it’s being tossed into the financial black hole.

No asset is worthless if it’s not replaced. How is any money great business if it’s just another squad player lost

I am not crying over anyone being sold

Once again classic Mr Binary

Is Dave out of bed yet? It’s a long way to Hull

Remember a few weeks ago when boddy was giving away the Crown Jewels by underpricing O’Hare, then when it hadnt happened after a few days you panicked and then said they overpriced him. Then when he got injured you accused them of dawdling? Good times.

Hyam is a decent CB the only thing he lacks is pace but £1.5 million is an absolute joke price in the current market .I would of took £3 million as a fair price and we won't get a replacement of similar standard. If any one of our CB get injured we are fucked and please no Dabo as cover.

So we were correct to turn down those bids for Shipley last season? (Who we also had no intention of replacing)

We had the money for him?

My gripe here is not whether or not he's an outstanding defender.

It's the fact that he is a player we actually own and he's 26 with arguably several good seasons of reliable service ahead of him.

Importantly he's been an ever present for several seasons and is not injury prone.
...Blackburn have bought a dependable and steady CB for very little money.

A solid, stable Championship club with no established replacement would not be selling for him for 1.5m a few days before the window closes.

The fact that we are says it all. It's a forced sale, the timing is awful and reflects very badly on the management of the club by the owners.

What is this 20 questions? Shall we create a separate thread - ask Grendel?

We can just consult the spreadsheet instead if it’s easier?

I don’t honestly think a single club above us would pay a fee and want him near the team.

Hyam would attract very little interest at this level if any. He’s not quick enough or aggressive enough in this league.

Hyam rose etc who are only here as no other championship club wants them

unfortunately those spreadsheets have a nasty habit of rebounding back

I mean one of those sniggering at that very post believed we should have retained Biamou and sent Gyokeres back to Brighton

I think a lot of people are missing the real issue here. 1.5m, 2.5m.. who gives a shit about the price? We’re not bringing in a decent replacement so it isn’t good business regardless.

The defence is the weakest part of our team by an absolute mile. So I’ve got a good idea, let’s sell the most consistent CB we have less than a week before the window shuts!

This isn’t some sort of astute sale to strengthen following a “model” The sale is PURELY for cash flow plugging, because the incompetent owners of this football club cannot and will not run it properly.

Yes it’s almost as if people can be hopelessly wrong about players and should just admit it!

Exactly. Mr Binary and his merry gang are outside this logic path
