I think we would be within a couple of seasons but I've always seen the third season as the hardest for a promoted club. Our first eleven is good at this level but we lack depth compared to our rivals. On the footballing side of things, I'd say we are. We have a squad that is more than capable of remaining in this division and a manager with a solid record at delivering results with what little he has at his disposal.
The reason why our position is under threat is that we have an owner that it completely unwilling/unable to inject external investment into the squad to ensure that the club progresses - which is entirely unsustainable - an infrastructure that is likely worse than a number of L1 clubs, and a relatively short term lease with a landlord who the club has a fractured relationship with.
Even without King but with a different manager, we'd have stayed up - he was way, way out of his depth and should have resigned by the end of September for the greater good.If we’d have kept King and had a proper manager we would have stayed up that season, we were still fairly close with an awful side and a manager who wasn’t a manager
Yeah and I’ll start panicking if there’s a massive fire sale between now and Wednesday but as things stand I’m still relatively confident

He wasn't on a hiding to nothing, he just wasn't up to the job - don't disagree about the bench thing, anyone else wouldn't have put up with it.Not disagreeing with that to be fair, he was on a hiding to nothing from the off - any other manager would have sacked it off when Delieu pulled that stunt of sitting on the bench
I think Delieu pulled that stunt to try and force a resignation but Thorne had no shame in him and kept hold of the wages for as long as he could knowing we couldn't afford to sack him.Not disagreeing with that to be fair, he was on a hiding to nothing from the off - any other manager would have sacked it off when Delieu pulled that stunt of sitting on the bench

...plus he had one of the easiest jobs at the time with zero pressure from the fans thanks to the range of laughable excuses for his failings.I think Delieu pulled that stunt to try and force a resignation but Thorne had no shame in him and kept hold of the wages for as long as he could knowing we couldn't afford to sack him.

Stoke will at least be considering Robins and a million plus change for Hyam doesn’t solve our cash flow problems. It’s not beyond belief to think that multiple first team players will be sold, replaced with crap and that’ll be the final straw for the manager.
It may also of course not happen and the squad remains intact
I’ve made my thoughts known that I don’t think MR goes to Stoke and obviously I’ll be happy if I’m not proven wrong
Something very fishy going on over at Sunderland, Alex Neil the favourite and he’s apparently bailed from doing his weekly press conference this morning
Don't get the Neil appointment for Stoke.I’ve made my thoughts known that I don’t think MR goes to Stoke and obviously I’ll be happy if I’m not proven wrong

That would be indeed, he’s better off where he is
Was only thinking this morning Sunderland have done some good business. Would have loved Ballard and Van Heck (who they've been strongly linked with) at the back.
Can't believe we let that CWR co-commentator sit on the bench

There were people genuinely pleased that Sunderland came up instead of Wycombe. Don’t know about them but I’d rather have an extra side to be sure will finish below us.
We desperately need a change of ownership, it’s that simple. Yet the white knight never comes knocking as he does for pretty much everyone else.
Come off it man, in 2011/12 we had a chief scout who had never managed before playing Clive Platt and Roy O’Donovan up front
This season we have probably our second best ever manager coaching Gyökeres and Godden
Fucking hell, this thread is a state, some saying they would take the money to keep us afloat, ( we've rejected it) some saying its been an awful window... We aint sold anyone yet, weve knocked back bids, or more accurately quoted what we want for a player and the other clubs have gone away... Long may it continue.
first season in brumIf true then it'll be topping off a thoroughly depressing summer.
I can't remember the last time going into a season with so little optimism.
Boddy's been hawking our wares at market according to that then? Hopefully this would be the extent of our enforced sales (not sure at the figures quoted though) but i think it's going to be a nervy last few days of the window for us.
Can’t wait to see who his replacement will be thanks to ‘the model’.
Bedwetter!I doubt there will be. We have signed Panzo and Doyle on loans we have rose and Mcfazdean and also Bidwell in an emergency
I’d be very surprised if we sign a centre half as it would be another young loan
looks like he’s defo gone..
