Yeah I agree but think he’ll go onto have a better career than Hamer in the long term.

I see your point.

Hamer has so much talent but I feel he is stagnating with it. He could be head and shoulders above but he's been pretty dissapointing for a while.

The disciplinary record is also something else.

Hyam is a decent player for us but has probably maxed out in terms of progression so I can't see a huge fee coming in. Saying that £2.5m would have been a huge fee for us a few years ago!

It’s ok grendel to admit you got Hyam wrong

Didnt you say the same about Ryan Haynes when he joined Shrewsbury and Lee Burge when he was L1 goalkeeper of the season

If we were going to replace him then sure. But let’s be honest it would be plugging holes and we’d likely just see wages reinvested. That’s why we needed a big sale.

At least they might give him a song

We knocked back a bid of £3M...so Blackburn bid £2.5M? Have we suddenly become desperate for money?

Depends on the structure of each individual deal.

I must have missed when he was actually sold?

Interesting though it is I can't see us selling our best CB who is just 26 to a rival? Unless it was 4/5m 2.5m is chicken feed for an established CB in the championship.

Reports have suggested that Rovers have placed a bid in the region of £2.5m for Hyam, but the Lancashire Telegraph understands that the amount tabled is less than that.

And there is a confidence that a deal will get over the line as Rovers look to finalise a deal in the final week of the window.

He's frequently our captain. Not sure Robins would want to let him go.
Whether he will actually go is another matter!
